Hip hop has a new face and it's one you won't forget. Chalease brings back an element of music that has been missing for over a decade - authenticity. Her melodic composition will have you singing and lyrical content will undoubtedy have you thinking.
Gushing on love affairs, spilling detailed life experiences and hard-learned lessons, Chalease fuses sweet, melodic vocals with an old school inspired rap style for a contradictory sound refreshing in today's music.
Born in Nome, AK and then raised in Anchorage, Chalease was raised by her single mother alongside two of her siblings. When Chalease's father and her were reunited during her middle school years, he exposed her to the diverse beauty of music culture and they bonded over a shared love and appreciation for all musical genres. Performing since the age of 6 and writing beginning at the age of 10, Chalease studied, learned and continued to grow in search of the genre that best suited her set of talents.
Beginning her career as a singer, it wasn't until she was 20 when she first tried rapping. It was then she realized that hip hop was more than an infatuation, it was innate. After recognizing her newfound talent, Chalease studied the artistic components of her favorite old school hip hop and R&B artists, drawing inspiration and developing from the likes of MC Lyte, NWA, Aaliyah, Nas, Tupac, Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes and more.
What is about to diverge to the public for the first time ever is a monstrosity of artistic abilities, a newly familiar sound, and something that has not been seen in hip hop for a while. This is just the beginning of her journey...
