Clients can expect a calm, professional, and organized photography experience from planning through final delivery.

Before the event, I review the timeline, locations, priorities, important people, and any must-have photographs. For weddings, I coordinate with the couple, planner, venue, and other vendors so photography fits into the schedule rather than slowing it down.

During coverage, I combine documentary photography with guided portraiture. Candid moments are photographed naturally as they happen, while couples, families, wedding parties, executives, and groups receive clear posing and direction when needed.

For weddings and events, coverage may include details, arrivals, ceremonies, speakers, portraits, group photographs, receptions, networking, dancing, décor, and important unscripted moments throughout the day.

Videography follows the same unobtrusive approach, using multiple angles and dedicated audio capture when appropriate to document ceremonies, speeches, reactions, and atmosphere.

Event planners can expect someone who respects timelines, communicates clearly, works collaboratively with venue staff and other vendors, and adapts when schedules change.

Final photographs are professionally edited and delivered through an online gallery for convenient viewing, downloading, and sharing. Wedding film delivery varies by selected video coverage.

The goal is to give clients polished imagery without making photography feel like it has taken over the event.

I’m Chad Populis, owner and lead photographer of Chad Populis Photography. I’m a New Orleans-area photographer and videographer based in Gretna, Louisiana, specializing in weddings, corporate events, headshots, portraits, and celebrations throughout South Louisiana and the Gulf Coast.

My creative background started long before photography. As a kid, I spent a lot of time drawing, creating comics, and experimenting with graffiti-style art. That eventually developed into graphic and web design, photo editing, and video production. In 2016, after friends and clients increasingly asked me to photograph their events, photography developed from a creative passion into my profession.

My photography style combines authentic documentary coverage with polished, directed portraits. I want clients to have the natural moments—the laughter, reactions, movement, and emotion—but I also provide clear posing and direction when it is time to create portraits.

Today, I photograph weddings, engagements, corporate events, professional headshots, conferences, boudoir sessions, portraits, real estate, and automotive projects. Wedding and event videography is also available for clients who want their story preserved through both still images and film.

I’m a husband, father of two, lifelong New Orleans-area resident, and a big Saints, Pelicans, and LSU fan. That local connection is a big part of how I approach New Orleans events: I understand the venues, traditions, energy, and culture that make celebrations here different.

My goal is simple—provide professional service, make people comfortable in front of the camera, work smoothly with the rest of the event team, and deliver photographs and films that clients will continue enjoying long after the event is over.

Chad Populis Photography is self-contained for normal wedding, portrait, and event photography coverage.

**Photography & Video Equipment**

Professional Sony full-frame mirrorless camera systems, professional zoom and prime lenses, on-camera and off-camera flash, portable lighting, wireless triggers, stabilizers, and professional audio equipment are used as needed for each assignment.

Backup camera equipment is carried for professional event and wedding coverage.

**Lighting**

Available light is used when it produces the desired result. Portable flash and off-camera lighting are added for portraits, receptions, dark venues, headshots, and other situations requiring controlled lighting.

Lighting setups are kept as compact as practical and are positioned to minimize disruption to guests and event operations.

**Videography Audio**

For wedding and event video, wireless microphones and dedicated audio recorders may be used for ceremonies, vows, speeches, presentations, and interviews. When appropriate, audio may also be captured from the venue, DJ, or production sound system.

**Venue Access**

Normal access to ceremony, reception, portrait, and event spaces is required. Early access may be requested when lighting, audio, photo booths, headshot stations, or other equipment must be installed before guests arrive.

**Power**

Standard electrical access may be required for extended events, video equipment, photo booths, lighting, charging, or other event services.

**Timeline**

For weddings and complex events, a finalized timeline and primary onsite contact are strongly recommended. This helps coordinate photography with planners, venue staff, speakers, entertainment, and other vendors.

**Insurance**

Chad Populis Photography carries general liability insurance and can provide documentation when required by a venue or client.

Specific technical or venue requirements can be coordinated with the planner or venue before the event.
