What to expect

Clients can expect a polished, expressive cello performance tailored to the mood and flow of their event. I can provide elegant background music, featured selections for important moments, or a mix of both.

Before the event, I work with each client to understand the schedule, venue, preferred style, and any special song requests. I can help choose music for wedding ceremonies, cocktail hours, memorials, proposals, dinners, religious services, and other private events.

My repertoire includes classical favorites, hymns, film music, and popular song arrangements. Depending on the event, the performance can feel romantic, reflective, celebratory, or relaxed. I can also perform with accompaniment tracks when appropriate to create a fuller sound.

Clients can expect clear communication, punctual arrival, professional presentation, and flexibility if plans change. My goal is to make the music one less thing to worry about and to provide a memorable performance that fits naturally into the occasion.

About

I’m a classically trained cellist based in Philadelphia who enjoys helping people create the right atmosphere for meaningful events. I have performed in orchestras, chamber groups, competitions, and solo settings, but I believe live music should feel welcoming—not overly formal or intimidating.

I perform for weddings, memorial services, proposals, dinners, receptions, religious services, and other private events. My repertoire includes classical music, hymns, film music, and arrangements of popular songs. Examples include Pachelbel’s Canon in D, Bach’s Cello Suite No. 1 Prelude, The Swan, Ave Maria, Amazing Grace, A Thousand Years, Can’t Help Falling in Love, Perfect, What a Wonderful World, and Hallelujah. I’m also happy to learn special requests when possible.

I take a collaborative approach and am glad to work with you on song choices, timing, and the overall feel of the event. You do not need to have every detail figured out—I can help suggest music based on the occasion, venue, and mood you are hoping to create.

I also understand that events vary widely in size and budget, so I try to keep pricing flexible depending on the length, location, and specific needs of the performance. My goal is to make the process straightforward and provide thoughtful, dependable music that fits naturally into your event.

Additional booking notes

For most events, my setup is simple. I generally need:

• A stable, armless chair
• A small, level performance area with enough room for the cello and music stand
• Adequate lighting to read music
• Access to the venue approximately 30 minutes before the performance for setup and sound check

For outdoor events, the performance area must be protected from rain, direct sunlight, excessive heat or cold, and other conditions that could damage the instrument. A covered or shaded area is strongly preferred. Please let me know in advance about parking.

For smaller indoor events, amplification is often not necessary. For larger venues, outdoor spaces, or events with significant background noise, a microphone and sound system may be recommended. I can coordinate with the venue or event planner regarding available audio equipment.

If accompaniment tracks are requested, I will need access to a nearby electrical outlet or an appropriate sound system with Bluetooth or auxiliary input. Please let me know in advance about stairs, limited loading access, unusual venue conditions, or any specific dress requirements.

Technical needs may vary by event, and I am happy to work with the venue or planner to keep the setup straightforward.

Influences and inspiration

My musical influences include composers such as Schubert, Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, Elgar, and Walton, whose music combines lyricism, depth, and emotional intensity. I am also inspired by cellists such as Yo-Yo Ma and Jacqueline du Pré for their expressive and communicative playing.
For contemporary music, I enjoy the melodies and songwriting of artists such as The Beatles, Leonard Cohen, Elvis Presley, Ed Sheeran, and Christina Perri. These influences shape my approach to both classical repertoire and cello arrangements of popular songs: expressive, melodic, and focused on connecting with the audience.
