Will was so easy to work with - I had no idea where to start with music and he helped us pick beautiful selections. Most importantly... he played beautifully!!!
We were more than pleased with the cello performance at our wedding. While Will Teegarden was unable to perform for the event due to unforeseen conflicts, he did an outstanding job of, in more than ample time, finding an alternative cellist who was both somebody he trusted and an outstanding musician, Cecilia Caughman. Ahead of the event, Will and I had discussed logistics including most importantly, the pieces to be performed, and all of this was communicated perfectly to Cecilia.
I worked further with Cecilia on things like the procession order, and even though I believe there were literal last minute changes to this by the event coordinator from what I had told Cecilia, this was not a problem at all for her.
A solo cellist was just the right musical accompaniment to our ceremony as well as the cocktail hour that immediately followed. I was happy to work with both individuals in the lead up to the event, and I knew we wouldn't have a thing to worry about the day of the wedding. Thank you both!
I cannot say enough about how wonderful an experience it was having Will and his accompanist play at our wedding. !!!!
Will was very helpful prior to the wedding and willing to accommodate any request that we had.
The day of the wedding was moving very fast for us, but luckily Will and his accompanist were early to the event and prepared to play.
Their music was beautiful and they were able to handle a couple "out-of-plan" situations that occurred.
I would recommend Will to anyone looking for a cellist at their event and will definitely ask him to return to any event in my future.
Thanks a lot Will !!!!

Will Teegarden enjoys a varied career as a cellist and teacher based in Pittsburgh, PA. He actively performs in various regional orchestras throughout Western Pennsylvania and Ohio, holding the associate principal cello chair in the Erie Philharmonic, as well as positions in the Canton, Youngstown, and Westmoreland Symphonies. He regularly performs additional orchestral and chamber music with localized companies such as Resonance Works PGH and the Pittsburgh Festival Opera. A strong advocate for new music, he was a founding member of the Pittsburgh-based contemporary music ensemble, NAT 28, and he was appointed principal cello of the 2018 Pittsburgh Micro-Tonal Music Festival Orchestra.
Additional performance credits include the New World Symphony, The Florida Orchestra, and the Orlando Philharmonic, under conductors Manfred Honeck, Michael Tilson Thomas, Matthias Bamert, Yan Pascal Tortelier, JoAnn Falleta, among others. He holds degrees in music from the University of Florida and Carnegie Mellon University, where he studied with cellists Steven Thomas and Anne Martindale Williams respectively. At Carnegie Mellon, he served as Co-Principal Cello, and earned first prize with his colleagues in the school's Silberman Chamber Music Competition with an enthusiastically received rendition of Oliver Messiaen's "Quatuor pour la fin du temps". Additionally, Will has attended the National Repertory Orchestra, Brevard Music Center, and the Innsbrook Institute Summer Festivals.
Additional Booking Notes
I provide music stands and stand lights as needed. Please provide a covered, dry performance area for outdoor events (ie tent, out of the sun.) Too much sun can melt the adhesive glue which holds the wood together in the cello.
