A Passion for Kindness: Making the World a Better Place to Lead, Love, and Learn by Tamara Letter

Overview

Inspiring, motivating, and engaging, Celebrate Kindness focuses on being kind to others through Random Acts of Kindness. Through a life-changing decision on my 40th birthday, I made a commitment to complete 40 Acts of Kindness which has been documented through my blog. Since that time I have continued my kindness journey through the juxtaposition of grief, loss, joy, and jubilation. Join me as I share the highs and lows of my adventures and be inspired to make a difference in the lives of others. I can also provide a book signing event following this presentation for my book: A Passion for Kindness: Making the World a Better Place to Lead, Love, and Learn.

About

Tamara Letter began her teaching career in Las Vegas, Nevada in 1997. Since then, she has taught in Memphis, TN, and Staunton, VA, before returning to her hometown of Mechanicsville, VA where she has served students and staff since 2007. Throughout her journey as an elementary teacher, differentiation specialist, technology integrator, and kindness cultivator, Tamara has inspired many with her creative and innovative learning experiences. Her passion for kindness, sparked by a 40th birthday project, continues to grow as she cultivates kindness around the world.

Tamara earned her bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Radford University in 1994 and her master’s degree in Educational Leadership from James Madison University in 2006. In 2018, Tamara received the R.E.B. Award for Teaching Excellence and was named 2019 Teacher of the Year for Mechanicsville Elementary School. Her first book, A Passion for Kindness: Making the World a Better Place to Lead, Love, and Learn was released on Valentine's Day 2019.

Tamara Letter's kindness work has been showcased on television, radio shows, podcasts, online magazines, and across social media platforms. She is a charismatic and energetic public speaker, presenting at local, state, and international events.

Celebrate Kindness details her adventures in blessing others with Random Acts of Kindness and includes personal stories of interactions with strangers. Heartfelt and passionate, these stories will touch your heart as I extend these experiences into deeper conversations about purpose, goals, and motivation. She provides links and resources through a website for those attendees who want to learn more or begin their own adventures. She can speak at your event for 30 or 60 minutes or customize her presentation to include work sessions where participants brainstorm acts of kindness and create action plans for future steps. She also offers book signing events following her presentations. She is based near Richmond, VA, and is available for local and travel-related events.

When not teaching and writing, Tamara enjoys spending time with her three children and connecting with other kindness cultivators around the world.
