August 5, 2026We recently hired Caroline from CC’s Pour Decisions Bar & Staffing for our party, and she was absolutely phenomenal. From our very first conversation through the booking process and creating a custom drink menu, every detail was handled with care and professionalism. Her communication was excellent, and it was clear from the thoughtful questions she asked that she is highly experienced and genuinely invested in making each event a success.
We were initially unsure whether hiring a bartender would be worth it, but after speaking with Caroline, we knew we had made the right decision. Looking back, it was one of the best decisions we made for our party.
Throughout the evening, Caroline exceeded every expectation. The drinks were fantastic, and our guests couldn’t stop talking about them. Beyond that, her professionalism, friendly personality, and exceptional service truly stood out. She kept everything running seamlessly, allowing us to relax and enjoy the celebration.
I honestly believe Caroline played a huge role in making our party such a success. If you’re considering hiring a bartender for your event, I can’t recommend Caroline and CC’s Pour Decisions Bar & Staffing highly enough. We would absolutely hire her again!

August 2, 2026CC provided a lovely person to serve at a small formal dinner which was a Celebration of Life for my husband.
Although I explained the type of event and the food I was preparing and how it would need to be served, this was all done by text (at CC’s request). Somehow my expectations for a “fine dining” experience did not get through.
The result was that I spent a lot of time in the kitchen, directing, orchestrating, plating, and doing wine service. In addition, the table service was not what I would call appropriate. For example, plates were being removed while guests were still eating. I know this isn’t the end of the world, but it wasn’t the ambiance I wanted, particularly for this event.
I chose CC because she seemed professional and empathetic in our communications, so I mistakenly thought that she understood where I was coming from. I really feel that if we had had a phone conversation this would not have happened.
So the take away is: make sure your expectations are not only clear, but understood.

After reviewing our correspondence,the signed Service Agreement, and our subsequent phone conversation, I believe it is important to provide some context for future clients.
My quote and staffing decision were based entirely on the information provided during the booking process. The signed Service Agreement identified the booking as Waitstaff / Dining Service and included one professional waitstaff, passed hors d’oeuvres, wine service, premium guest service, clearing and resetting tables, final cleanup of the service areas. It did not include chef, catering, or specialized fine-dining services. Virginia accepted the agreement without amendment prior to the event. Based on that scope, I assigned an experienced hospitality professional with more than 30 years of industry experience.
During the event, the role extended well beyond the agreed scope. In addition to continuous guest service, my staff member was expected to cook the roast beef, prepare potatoes and vegetables, assemble and present cheese platters, coordinate and plate multiple courses, plate desserts, wash dishes, and manage both kitchen and dining room responsibilities simultaneously. After reviewing the complete scope, both I and my catering partner concluded that the work performed exceeded the single waitstaff service booked and would typically require additional staffing.
Following the event, I contacted Virginia personally, listened to her concerns, sincerely apologized that her expectations had not been been met, and offered to make things right. Although that offer was declined, it was made in good faith
I respect Virginia’s right to her opinion. However, I also have a responsibility to stand behind my staff when they perform professionally under circumstances that differed materially from the service requested and contracted. This experience has reinforced the importance of ensuring that every event’s complete scope is clearly defined before service begins.

My career began long before CC’s Pour Decisions existed.
As a teenager, I entered the corporate world early, working on the trading floor of the Toronto Stock Exchange and advancing into management by my early twenties. At the same time, I was introduced to the hospitality industry — a space that quickly became my passion.
One of my earliest bartending and serving roles placed me unexpectedly in a high-pressure VIP environment, serving internationally known artists and high-profile guests. That experience taught me how to stay calm, professional, and attentive under pressure — skills that have shaped my approach ever since.
For the next four decades, I built a dual career: corporate leadership by day, hospitality professional by passion. During that time, I worked across five-star hotels, private clubs, catering companies, staffing agencies, major sporting venues, and intimate private events.
My experience includes professional sporting events (NHL, CFL, MLS), VIP and corporate suites for major events such as the Rogers Tennis Cup and RBC Canadian Open, and private corporate functions, weddings, and milestone celebrations.
I’ve been recognized multiple times for service excellence, including the City of Edmonton Service Excellence Award (selected among 4,000 nominees) and multiple Employee of the Game awards. In 2024, I placed 3rd in the North American Bar Boss competition.
In 2024, I made the decision to leave the corporate world and turn decades of hospitality experience into a full-time business. Today, CC’s Pour Decisions provides bartending, mixology, and professional waitstaff services, supporting events from setup to teardown with a calm, highly organized, service-first approach.
I now work alongside a handpicked team of experienced, cross-trained bartenders and waitstaff and am proud to be a preferred bar and staffing partner for venues and catering companies.
