Carson Thompson, Emcee
Overview
A professional stand-up comedian and emcee based in British Columbia, I bring warmth, humour, and 10+ years of corporate experience to every event. For couples, I keep things fun and moving without stealing your spotlight. For corporate clients, I understand your world and know how to work a room. Either way, you get someone who genuinely cares that your event lands, and that your attendees leave smiling.

June 22, 2026Best Emcee we could have asked for!
Carson was INCREDIBLE.
I honestly don't think I can put into words just how great he was, but I'll try my best.
From the start Carson was personable and professional.
He took the time to make sure he fully understood our vision for our wedding, and that we also knew what we wanted.
During our first meeting, he took the time to ask questions, take notes, and find out everything he needed to make our day run smoothly. He was so intentional with this process that it helped us refine our ideas, and consider things we missed.
He took the time to connect with our officiant and our DJ, to ensure the day flowed perfectly.
After he made sure our ceremony went smoothly, he helped ensure our cocktail hour ran great while the rest of the wedding party was off taking photos.
He kept the DJ in the loop so our grand entrance was a smash.
Then we got to the part where Carson really shined. Once we were seated he got to explaining the schedule, but it was so much more than that.
Since Carson took the time to get to know us, his humor was tailored PERFECTLY to what we wanted.
He was endearing, engaging, and extremely professional. He helped keep some rowdy/loud family members in their place in a very fun and respectful way.
For our table food order, we opted for a rock paper scissors tournament and it was a blast! Carson created a bracket, encouraged our guests and made the whole process extremely fun.
Thanks in large part to Carson, our wedding turned out perfectly.
If I could give more than 5 stars I would.
Thank you Carson, you were the best!

June 9, 2026Carson is a Great Emcee!
Carson was our emcee for our wedding in October of 2025 and he did a fantastic job. He was very creative in his ideas and he definitely kept our guests smiling & entertained. Prior to the day he was able to meet to discuss what we wanted for our emcee and he was very accommodating with our vision. He was communicative with us throughout the lead up to the wedding and ensured he knew the timeline for the day of. Thank you Carson!

What to expect
When you hire me, you get more than someone who shows up and reads from a script. Here is what working with me actually looks like. For weddings, the process starts well before the big day. I sit down with the couple to go over event logistics, the run of show, and anything that is off the table. From there, I do something most emcees don't: I make a genuine effort to connect with the wedding party ahead of time. Whether that is grabbing a coffee, dropping in on the rehearsal dinner, or just having a conversation before the day arrives, that time is what lets me make the night feel personal rather than just professionally hosted. On the day itself, you get a host who is warm, fun, and unscripted enough to roll with whatever the evening throws at us, while keeping everything on track. For corporate events, the process is similar. Before anything else, I offer a meeting to understand your company, your industry, and the goals of the event. I want to know who is in the room and what success looks like for you. That prep is what lets me walk in ready to hold the room, not just fill time between agenda items. In both cases, what you get is someone who takes the preparation seriously so that when the day arrives, I can command the room, keep the energy up, and go with whatever the event throws our way.
About
I'm a stand-up comedian, emcee, and event producer based out of Maple Ridge, BC, with a silly and absurdist style. Since getting into comedy a few years ago I've performed across Canada, appeared at the SouthRock Comedy Festival, and am a member of Yuk Yuk's Rising Comics League, performing regularly at Yuk Yuk's comedy clubs. As an emcee I bring that same fun and silly energy to weddings and corporate events. For couples, I take the time to get to know you and the wedding party so the night feels personal, not just hosted. For corporate clients, my 10+ years working inside the business world means I know how to hold a room full of professionals and can get up to speed on your industry fast. I regularly produce my own comedy shows, so I understand events from both sides of the mic, timelines, logistics, and how to keep an audience engaged start to finish. Based in Maple Ridge, I perform regularly throughout the Lower Mainland and the Okanagan and am happy to travel for the right event.
Additional booking notes
Sound: I own a full PA system and bring it when needed. For weddings I typically work with the DJ or venue's existing setup. Two standard power outlets required when bringing my own system. Microphones: I carry two Shure SM58s and prefer handheld mics, though I am flexible on format. Staging: No fixed requirements. I am comfortable in any environment where I am visible to the audience. A curtain backdrop and simple spotlights are available on request for events that want a more defined performance area. All technical details are confirmed during the pre-event meeting
