Led by award-winning veteran international recording artist vocalist/saxophonist (Hollywood Independent Music Awards 2025) Darryl Walker, Captain’s Orders, a San Diego–based 9-piece concert band performs a high-energy luxury 90-minute Yacht Rock and classic pop show featuring the music of artists such as Michael McDonald, Hall & Oates, Steely Dan, Christopher Cross, and Kenny Loggins.

Our show is designed to be highly interactive and audience-friendly, with recognizable hits and sing-along moments that connect with multi-generational audiences.

ARTIST PROFILE
Darryl Walker is an award-winning vocalist, saxophonist, and bandleader whose career spans jazz, R&B;, pop, and
contemporary smooth music. In 2025, he received the Hollywood Independent Music Award for Best Vocal
(Jazz/Smooth/Cool). Renowned for his refined vocal delivery and musical versatility, Darryl has performed at
premier venues, high-profile corporate functions, and exclusive private events throughout the United States. His
performances are distinguished by elegance, professionalism, and a deep understanding of audience and setting.
In addition to his vocal work, Darryl is a highly accomplished saxophonist, contributing to numerous live and studio
projects. His credits include collaborations with Tabu, A&M;, Motown, Mesa Blue Moon Records, Northern Blues,
and Ripa Records. Darryl is an active voting member of the Recording Academy’s Los Angeles Chapter and a
member of AFTRA. His career also includes appearances on The Late, Late Show with Craig Ferguson.

STAGING, POWER, DRESSING ROOM AND CATERING REQUIREMENTS
STAGING*
Optimum Stage Requirements: 20’ deep x 30’ wide.
Minimum Stage Requirements: 18’ deep x 24’ wide.
***Captain’s Orders Band management understands these stage size requirements may
not be available depending upon the venue. If this is the case, we shall be flexible
and accommodate each event’s specific needs, but please note that this must be
addressed prior to the event.
POWER*
(4) Six, 20-amp circuits on separate breakers, located not more
than 40 feet from the stage, 120 Amps total.
*** If the event is outdoors or the venue cannot support these electrical requirements, a
generator will be necessary. This can usually be supplied by most venues. This
must also be addressed prior to the event.
SOUND AND LIGHTING
Sound – See input list and stage plot or contact Darryl F. Walker with any questions. Lighting
– Standard Lighting is two (2) “Source 4” 4 can light trees (Stage Left and Stage Right)
DRESSING ROOMS and CATERING*
Purchaser will provide one (1) room or area reserved exclusively for band members. If
unavailable, a table with chairs for (9) persons in close proximity to the stage is requested.
Purchaser will supply sufficient beverages including bottled water, soft drinks, a hot meal with
protein, coffee and cookies for (9) persons for the duration of the event.
***Purchaser has the option of providing hot meals for six (9) persons, or, rather than
providing catering service, may pay a per diem. The per diem shall be $35.00 (Thirty
Five Dollars) per band and crew member for local events or travel days, and $50.00
(Fifty Dollars) per band and crew member for out of town events. Should the client
option to pay a per diem rather than provide a hot meal, please note that purchaser
will still provide basic catering in the designated greenroom area, i.e., assorted soft
drinks, ice, bottled water, coffee, assorted fruit and snack items for pre-show and
breaks.
