Cap'n Jack
Overview
My preferred genre is soft rock and country music. I play guitar and sing. I will provide an easy listening (not too loud!) experience for your event, which will allow for conversation among your guests while listening to classic, nostalgic tunes that withstand the test of time.

February 23, 2023Captain Jack Rocks!
Captain Jack isn’t only a very talented man, but he’s got a heart of gold. At a time when many folks stayed away from skilled nursing facilities due to concerns over Covid, Captain Jack was there for our residents. Like a trooper he went along with our ever changing policies so he could show up for our residents. Our residents love him, we love him. Anyone would be lucky to have him perform at their event.

What to expect
You can expect a laid-back program. I have bad legs, so I will be sitting down when I play. Generally, I will just sing while I play the acoustic guitar. However, I have recorded additional song tracks on my own with bass guitar, electric piano, electric drums, and background vocals. This allows me to occasionally play these recorded background tracks while I add in the electric or acoustic guitar and vocal harmony in person.
About
I recently retired from a long career in banking. I love music; it has always been a hobby of mine since I started with an accordion at the age of 10, and then guitar when I was 14. As a kid, my first love was the Beatles, but that rapidly expanded to include just about everything pop and rock. Later, I developed an interest in country music, including classic and contemporary.
In my 20's I played in a rock band with friends back in Brooklyn. We played a few high school dances, block parties, and clubs before life took us on career journeys, and we went our separate ways.
Over the last 5 years, I began playing at retirement homes (The Menlo Park Home for Veterans, Menlo Park, NJ, Whitestone Corners, Stroudsburg, PA, The Sentinel, Port Jervis, NY, The Chelsea, Brookfield, NJ, Clover Rest Home, Columbia, NJ, Mrs. Bush's Personal Care, Kunkletown, NJ, Legacy Place Cottages, Allentown, PA, Slate Belt Rehabilitation, Bangor, PA, Alexandria Manor, Bangor, PA). In addition, I have played at open mike night at the Shawnee Craft Brewery, Shawnee, PA and at many friends' and relatives' holiday parties - Memorial Day, St. Patrick's Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, and Christmas.
Now that I have the time, I would like to bring my musical talents to more people and to supplement my income along the way. My guitar playing is usually a simple rhythm pattern. I believe vocals are my strongest point.
Additional booking notes
I will need some type of shelter from wet weather if I am playing outdoors. I will need some type of lighting if I am playing at night so I can read my music sheets and see the guitar. I will not be able to perform outdoors if the weather is too cold - say below 55 degrees. I have my own amplifier/speaker, microphone and guitar stands, and electrical extension cords.
