About
Brother Jerome is a dynamic trio from Northern New Jersey. Their heartfelt songs are played in an original style heavily influenced by reggae and dub, with elements of blues, rock, and hip-hop. They aim to bring people together with messages of love, mindfulness, and the importance of family. The band is comprised of Ryan Bria, Ramsey Norman, and Steve Capecci: all New Jersey natives who fuse their varied musical backgrounds to intentionally craft a melodic and lyrical tapestry that fuels and uplifts the soul.
Ryan Bria is the primary songwriter, guitarist, and lead vocalist of Brother Jerome. He has been a prolific songwriter and performer for well over a decade, leading Brother Jerome to tour nationally as far as New Orleans. Ryan brings innovative songwriting styles and soul-expanding messages through a unique mix of influences including Sublime, Bob Marley, Protoje, 90s Hip Hop and Stevie Wonder.
Ramsey Norman plays drums and sings backing vocals in the band. On the drum kit, Ramsey's style pays deep respect to his influences such as Lloyd Knibb, Carlton Barrett, Sly Dunbar, and Style Scott, and his skilled backing vocals and rhythms mesh together to create a deep and meditative backdrop to Brother Jerome's songs.
Steve Capecci plays bass and also contributes backing vocals to the band completing the sonic tapestry that has become Brother Jerome’s signature trio sound. Steve has been a sought-after bassist for live performance and recording in the NYC and New Jersey reggae scenes for the better part of 20 years. Since joining the group in 2018, Steve has been critical in shaping the band into the concept to be revealed in their new album “Brainwave”, coming in 2025.
