You can expect a passionate performance of beautiful spoken word poetry. I am able to write on assignment, meaning I can write something original for an event. I also have pieces with topics ranging from the seasons to black empowerment to personal/relatable life struggles.
Brother Bear is a spoken word artist born and raised in Hartford, CT. Now based in Chicago, IL. He is a founding member of the poetry collective The Transcribers and a member of The Trifecta. what brought him to poetry is the desire to be heard and the motivation to progress. He’s brought his talents nationally. Performing in: New York, New Jersey, Chicago, Atlanta, Boston, and Springfield. Venues and events he’s performed at include The International Festival of Arts and Ideas, New York Poetry Festival, Poetz Realm, Gang Poetry, Dewey’s Lounge, The Russell, as well as his collective’s showcase Scribe Night.
In a bigger venue, I may need a microphone.
I have been influenced by many of the poets who come before me and those I started my journey with. Some of those being: New Haven Poet Laureate Sharmont “Influence” Little, Phil C. Alexander, Oso The Poet, Langston Hughes, Black Chakra, She Unapologetic.
