Bre’s Caricatures

I draw quick, accurate, and charming caricatures of the guests of any type of event. I chat with them and crack jokes so I can capture their likeness in the moment. I usually take 3-6 minutes per person. I use markers for a clean appearance and a touch of shading for added depth. I can draw up to 6 people on a 11x14” page. Caricatures are especially popular with couples so I usually will have two chairs in front of me and one chair for myself. I use a music stand for my easel so I am very compact and can fit my setup in any spot at an event. Just be careful, I usually draw a long line of people in! At the end of the drawing I provide rubber bands and plastic bags to carefully secure the drawings for safe travels. Guests love to watch the drawings come to life before them and are usually excited to get in line! If you book with me, you can expect punctuality and a positive attitude.

I started off my career while I was teaching Art at a high school. I needed a little extra money to get by. One day my friend asked me to cover his caricature stand. I was shy, and I wasn’t confident in my abilities, but I agreed to help him. The event was one month away so I studied every day, practicing and drawing. When the day finally came to draw caricatures of people live for the very first time, it went amazing! The laughs, the reactions, the happy faces!! I loved it. And the people loved their caricatures. Ever since that day in 2018, I have been building my confidence and building a connection with the Indianapolis community. Caricatures has given me freedom and broken me out of my shell. I am so excited to continue this work and bring joy and lasting memories to people in my community and the people from all walks of life who reach out to me. I’ve even drawn for festivals, such as the Indy Pride Fest and the Indianapolis Juneteenth festival. I love meeting all the new people and connecting through art. I love drawing happy faces.
