Brady McCool

Brady began drumming at age seven, and performed in various bands throughout junior high and high school. He served as a section leader in his school’s drumline and led worship at his church.
At 15 his aspiration to write songs led him to learn guitar. After he learned a couple Cross Canadian Ragweed songs and penned a few originals good enough to share, he started playing acoustic sets of four to five songs during bands breaks at local venues around Possum Kingdom Lake. After one such performance, a concert promoter encouraged Brady to form a band for an upcoming festival.
Facing a tight timeline and a shortage of musicians in Graham Texas, Brady merged two local groups to form Brady McCool & the Young Guns (BMYG).
BMYG quickly gained traction, selling out shows at Papa’s Wheelhouse on Possum Kingdom Lake and touring regionally. The band earned runner-up honors at the 95.9 The Ranch Battle of the Bands in 2008 and 2009, competing against over 50 acts each year—all before the members graduated high school. Throughout the years they shared stages with notable artists like Casey Donahue, Kevin Fowler, Eli Young Band, Wade Bowen, Cody Jinks, Stoney LaRue, Micky & the Motorcars, Sean McConnell, and Corey Morrow to name a few.
In 2014, Brady moved to Nashville to refine his songwriting. The following year, the Nashville Songwriters Association recognized him as a “writer to watch.” He returned to Texas in 2018, launching a dynamic one-man-band act that blended his drumming and frontman skills. His high-energy performances feature classic hits across genres and decades, with a focus on everything 90s, sprinkling in a few original tunes with a heavy dose of George Strait.
He now lives in Midlothian with his wife and 2 children. You can find Brady captivating audiences at parties, clubs, festivals and venues all over North Texas…. Occasionally with all 4 members of the original BMYG; now booking shows as “The McCools”.
