Elio Martínez: Biography

Elio Martínez is a professional performer, educator, and artistic director whose career spans the worlds of classical ballet, commercial dance, and elite Boylesque. Born in Puerto Rico and raised in the mountains of San Lorenzo, Elio’s childhood was defined by a farm life and a burgeoning curiosity for the world. As a young boy, he would use an Atlas to play the role of a teacher, realizing through the maps and histories of other nations that he was destined to travel.

Elio’s path was not without obstacles. Despite a deep passion for movement, he initially struggled with his dancing skills. However, he recognized that dance would be his passport to the world. To achieve his dreams, Elio had to overcome significant hurdles—from the personal journey of coming out to the physical demand of walking over ten miles with a backpack just to stay late at school. There, he founded and led a dance team of over 40 students to compete in talent shows. Though his late father—may he rest in peace—initially feared Elio would live the "miserable life of a dancer," Elio eventually proved his capability by working on major television shows and touring internationally with world-renowned Reggaeton artists.

Elio holds a Bachelor’s degree in Theater and Dance Education from the University of Puerto Rico. Today, he is the founder of EvolutionFitnessandDance com, a company that offers personalized choreography for wedding couples to create unforgettable first dances, Quinceañera Choreographies, Modeling lessons and Dance lessons for special events. His business also helps clients sculpt their bodies and embrace healthy lifestyles through his signature "Interactive" Fitness Program.

Professional Career
Elio’s formal training began in his adolescence, where he mastered Jazz and Latin Ballroom. His dedication earned him a place in the Puerto Rican Juvenile Ballet, traveling globally for cultural events. He later performed classical and contemporary ballet with Balleteatro Nacional de Puerto Rico. Elio’s versatility eventually took him to Las Vegas, where he performed for two years in the acclaimed Cuban production Havana Nights. Upon returning to Puerto Rico, he transitioned into the commercial sector, collaborating on international tours and concerts with industry icons.

For over a decade, Elio has dazzled audiences across film, television, and stage. His credits include:
• Live Stage: Encanto Live at the Hollywood Bowl, the first-ever live commercial for The Greatest Showman, and the Broadway promotional cast of On Your Feet!.
• Tours & Fashion: International Burlesque tours with Dita Von Teese and featured performances for MAC Cosmetics.
• Television: America’s Got Talent, American Horror Story, Henry Danger, Nuestra Belleza Latina, Mira Quien Baila, and a featured commercial for Absolut Vodka.
