October 28, 2025I hired Michelle to play at my wedding and I thought that her communication leading up to the event could use some improvement. She was a difficult person to work with since she would set unrealistic deadlines for herself and then not deliver on time when the deadlines came. I had hired her 7 months before my wedding and asked for her to prepare a single song that I wanted to walk down the aisle to. She prepared a sample of the song very quickly but didn’t follow up at all with a revision to it after I sent her comments. Whenever I asked her about it, she would say that she was busy and would prepare a new version for me by a certain date. That date would come and pass with no new sample for me to listen to. This cycle of her setting a deadline and then having an excuse as to why it wasn’t ready was repeated up until 1 week before the wedding when I finally received an updated sample. By then there was no time to make any adjustments and no chance to ask for other songs besides standard ones that she already knew. I wouldn’t recommend hiring her since she is a difficult person to plan around, and up until a week before the wedding I wasn’t sure if I needed to hire someone else because of how difficult it was to communicate with her.

Thank you for your feedback, Charlie. I’m always looking for ways to improve my client experience. At the time of your booking, I was piloting a new complimentary feature — short musical samples offered early in the process. Because it was experimental, I realize now that I should have communicated more clearly that these were not full production revisions but informal previews recorded during my practice sessions closer to the event date.
That said, I prepared carefully for your wedding and delivered a live performance that reflected the level of quality I bring to every event. I’m sorry if the timing of the preview caused stress in your planning process — that was never my intention. I appreciate your honesty and wish you both all the best in your new life together.
Warmly,
Michelle

May 25, 2025I had the pleasure of working with Michelle at Calamigos Ranch as a wedding planner. She was responsive and had just the best music anyone could’ve possibly asked for a for their ceremony. Please reach out to Michelle if you’re looking for someone who is professional, talented, and truly loves what they do!

Thank you so much! It’s truly a joy to make music that brings people together — that’s the magic a wedding ceremony is all about. It’s not just about creating a beautiful atmosphere, it’s about marking the moment when two people begin their new family. We’re always honored to play a small part in shaping that connection. So grateful you noticed and so grateful we got to work together!

May 1, 2025We had the absolute pleasure of working with the most talented cellist trio for a stunning 60th birthday celebration, and they were nothing short of extraordinary. Their performance brought an air of elegance and warmth to the entire evening—setting the perfect tone from the moment guests arrived.
Their artistry was not only heard but felt throughout the event, weaving beautifully through the background during dinner and captivating guests during key moments of the evening. They were professional, polished, and a dream to collaborate with. Our client and their guests couldn’t stop raving about the music—it truly elevated the celebration and made it unforgettable.
If you're looking to add a sophisticated and soulful touch to your event, this trio is an absolute must!

Special perks: Booking with Michelle includes the option to have a COMPLIMENTARY AUDIO GUESTBOOK, courtesy of After the Beep, at your ceremony and cocktail reception. It also includes complimentary backing tracks if a live accompanist is out of your budget.
Michelle is flexible and willing to accommodate anything that isn't listed below. This will give you an idea of a typical gig:
Musicians typically arrive 30-45 mins before the start of the event to park, set up, and warm up. If there is a sound check or amplification involved, we will show up 15 minutes prior to sound check or an hour before the downbeat (start).
For solo instruments, I highly recommend amplification. I use a Fishman Loudbox Artist, this is more about tone than volume, it helps support the sound so I don't have to work as hard while I am playing, and it is robust enough to fill a space with a big crowd. Events can get very loud very quickly with people trying to talk over each other.
We typically wear black but we can accommodate other looks as long as we have ample notice and are not required to spend any money out-of-pocket. I am happy to wear costumes that are provided or reimbursed.
We take a short break about every hour, when convenient.
Wedding ceremonies and cocktail hours typically last about an hour and a half together, but can sometimes run longer for religious ceremonies, or when the bridal party is late, or the weather is bad and there needs to be a contingency plan. I do charge for the extra time if the event is running late and may need to leave early if I need to make it to the next gig.
We are professional arrangers and producers here as well, so we can provide sample recordings for our prospective clients, this is something most other musicians can't do.
Paperwork is usually completed before the event. I have a short client contract and invoice I send to each of my clients and usually take a 50% deposit. If the gig is last-minute, I usually do not ask for a deposit and may or may not request a contract depending on the nature of the gig. Booking through gig salad does commit the buyer to the basic gig salad contract.
I require my clients to cover parking or travel expenses.
Please feel free to send me any questions, I'm happy to help.
Michelle
Once upon a time, when I was just a freshman in high school, I was sitting in orchestra rehearsal—tuning my strings like any other day—when our manager made a surprise announcement:
“Yo-Yo Ma is in town, and we’ve been invited to meet him. There are limited seats—anyone interested?”
Can you believe... no one raised their hand!? I was completely shook.
Despite the silence around me, I raised mine—heart pounding with excitement. I couldn’t believe my luck! And just like that, the very next month, I found myself face-to-face with one of the greatest musicians of our time.
During his talk, he shared a quote from his mentor, Pablo Casals:
“I am a person first, a musician second, and a cellist third.”
Those words lit up something in me. They felt like a permission slip to lead with humanity—and to believe that joy, hope, and connection would always matter more than playing it cool.
That moment shaped everything that followed. I went on to earn a degree in cello performance, then studied contemporary arranging and production at Berklee. Since then, I’ve had the honor of performing with artists like Olivia Rodrigo, Miley Cyrus, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Eminem, and Troye Sivan—and recording for games, film, and TV. That younger version of me would be floored to know I worked hard enough to earn a Grammy nomination for my contributions to Zedd’s 2024 album, Telos.
But here’s the truth:
None of that is what makes me happiest.
Music doesn’t bring light into people’s lives through accolades. It brings light through genuine connection. My favorite memories as a musician aren’t the big-name shows. They’re moments in indie home studios, hearing a friend’s demo for the first time, or helping a total stranger celebrate a once-in-a-lifetime milestone.
If you work with me—whether it’s for your wedding, your event, or a creative project—you’ll get someone who shows up with a full heart and incredibly high standards. I don’t let special moments pass me by, and I’ll treat your moment with the same care, presence, and joy that made me raise my hand all those years ago.
With love,
Michelle
P.S. I joyfully play LGBTQ+ weddings and all love-centered celebrations. 💖🏳️🌈
