Body Paint Guru

As a photographer working several events with Bodypaint Me I can safely say they are the most organized operation I've come across. Their attention to detail in the way they set up, to their work is second to none. I've seen some many master pieces come to life in front of my eyes, it's hard to count them all. They are polite and know how to have a good time. I'd hire them for any event.

Easily the best body painter I've ever worked with!

I'm an event coordinator that hosts a plethora of both festivals and club events up and down the East Coast. I have booked my fair share of body painters over the years, but Matt Deifer is by far my favorite. He shows up on time, is completely professional, and is unbelievably skilled. His work speaks for itself.

The experience is visually striking, easy to host, and creates photo‑ready looks your guests will remember.

About

Matt Deifer is a multidisciplinary artist and creative director with 15+ years of bodypainting experience from NYC to LA. Now based in Charlotte, he specializes in immersive blacklight art and interactive bodypaint activations for festivals, nightlife events, and experiential productions. His work blends handcrafted UV makeup, vintage rubber stamps, and live performance to create unforgettable, photo‑ready moments. Matt’s projects have appeared at large‑scale events nationwide, where he continues to push boundaries and explore the intersection of art, light, and human connection.

Additional booking notes

We require a minimum 12' area for our setup. This accommodates one 6' table and space for two painters to work efficiently. Access to one standard power outlet is needed for blacklight fixtures. Proper blacklight conditions are essential. The activation must run in a low‑light environment for the stamped designs to glow correctly. Bright ambient lighting will diminish the effect, so the space should be dim or darkened. No sound or staging is required. The setup is compact, self‑contained, and easy to integrate into nightlife events, festivals, college parties, and experiential activations.

Influences and inspiration

Human Scrapbooking is influenced by interactive art installations, blacklight bodypaint culture, festival environments, and live performance art. My background in abstract expressionism and large‑scale bodypaint activations also shapes the experience, blending handcrafted blacklight makeup, vintage rubber stamps, and crowd‑driven creativity.
