black-eyed SUZIE
Overview
If your looking for a laid back folk rock vibe, we've got your event covered. We provide music for weddings, back yards, house concerts, speaking and corporate events. We're not too loud, or we can be as loud as you want :) We always dress and conduct ourselves professionally and we take very seriously what we do. We can provide an indoor or outdoor sound system for more intimate smaller spaces that we promise won't make your ears bleed! A large portion of our music is what we classify as easy listening, contemplative originals with laid back and energetic covers mixed in.

About
black-eyed SUZIE Biography
Cutting their teeth as a full family band out of rural Manitoba, Canada, mom-daughter duo, black-eyed SUZIE, delivers a bitter-sweet taste of dark roots folk rock prairie sound with inspirational songs of hardship and transformation that feed the soul. They are everything you love and miss from the 70’s country folk and 90’s alt rock scenes with haunting melodies and harmonies, and authentic lyrics that speak of finding some beautiful truth in the shadows. Don't be surprised to find yourself swaying in the breeze or carried off down a meandering river unexpectedly lost in thought and introspection, while tapping your toes under a canopy of bright rhythms and melodic voices reminiscent of birdsong you've long forgotten from childhood.
black-eyed SUZIE released their first studio album, Back To You, in 2012 and is currently working on a collection of dark roots folk rock recordings with band mate, Bobby Fraser of Winnipeg's Turn a Phrase. Two singles from the collection, Lost In A Lie and Murder In Brazil were released in 2020 and 2021.
The band has enjoyed playing coffee houses, pubs, community events, celebrations, and festivals including: Fire n Water Music Festival, Winnipeg Fringe Fest, Harvest Sun Music Festival, Swords and Sabres Festival and Winnipeg's first Mac and Cheese Festival!
Additional booking notes
We can provide a small professional sound system for your event which would be about half the size of a gymnasium. Otherwise we do have a full list of technical requirements included in our Tech Rider and Stage Plot which we will provide upon request.
Generally speaking, we can fit into a relatively small space with our PA and all our equipment. A 7 x 7 ft space would be a minimum, however we have fit into slightly smaller spaces!
We do not provide stage lighting.
Our typical set up includes acoustic guitar, electric guitar, upright bass, two speakers, a small mixer, two mics and stands, a guitar and bass amp and kick drum. We can do our set with or without electric guitar if you'd like a softer listening vibe.
