Notes and Technical Information for Billy Sherman Performances

Billy Sherman is a versatile comedian capable of performing in a variety of settings, from intimate clubs and private parties to corporate events and large theaters. He can adapt his set to the audience and event type, including clean, family-friendly material, edgy late-night sets, material-only performances, or interactive crowd work.

Performance Requirements:

Stage: A raised stage or performance area is preferred, but not required for smaller venues or private events. A minimum of 8x8 feet is ideal.

Lighting: Adequate stage lighting is recommended to ensure visibility. For smaller venues, general room lighting is sufficient. Spotlighting is preferred for theater or showcase performances.

Technical Support: A sound technician or someone familiar with the venue’s PA system is helpful, but not required for smaller events.

Timing: Typical performances range from 15–60 minutes, depending on the event and client needs. For festivals or showcases, sets are usually 10–20 minutes unless otherwise arranged.

Audience Interaction: Billy can incorporate crowd work when appropriate; however, for certain corporate or family-friendly events, material-only sets are preferred.

Billy arrives prepared, on time, and ready to deliver a seamless performance tailored to the audience and event. He is experienced performing in diverse settings and can adjust to technical limitations without compromising the quality of the show.

Influences and inspiration

Comedy has been a part of Billy Sherman’s life since he was a kid. He remembers sneaking out to watch The Secret Stash on Comedy Central around the age of 12 or 13, absorbing the styles of comedians like Kat Williams, George Carlin, and Louis C.K. Each brought something different sharp observations, storytelling, and fearless honesty that shaped his understanding of comedy.

Billy’s influences extend beyond stand-up. He grew up loving cartoons and animated shows with bold, exaggerated characters, including Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Adult Swim, Cartoon Network, and Nickelodeon. He also followed professional wrestling, enjoying its over-the-top, larger-than-life energy. These diverse influences helped shape the brash, energetic, and fearless style he brings to the stage today.

Among his favorite comedians, Louis C.K. stands out for his brilliant, darkly funny, and smart approach to comedy. While Billy often keeps his material approachable, he occasionally draws on darker humor, blending it seamlessly with his energetic, relatable style. All of these experiences and inspirations come together to create a performance that is bold, unpredictable, and deeply engaging for every audience.
