About
Bill McEvoy has been playing the Great Highland Bagpipe since 1986, when he began taking lessons with the Essex Shillelagh Pipes & Drums in West Orange, NJ. By 1992, he was Pipe Major of the band. In 1998, Bill was a founding member of the South Park & District Pipe Band. Bill began competing solo in 2000, & quickly rose to the level of grade 3 on the competition circuit. Bill was hired as instructor for the Passaic County Police & Fire Pipe Band in 2002, and instructed there for 15 years. He has played countless piping gigs, taught numerous students, and is currently enjoying his position as Pipe Major of South Park & District. Bill has performed at many weddings, parties, funerals, etc. & is available solo or with additional pipers and drummers.
