Joyful and enjoyable!

I've seen this artist multiple times now and have always enjoyed his delivery of classic songs. He is sure to play a song you know, and makes it fun for everyone by encouraging the crowd to sing along.

Fun Songs!🎸

I’ve had a chance to watch Bill perform several times, and I’ve also played & practiced with him. Bill has a great voice and has a super feel for guitar. He sings well-known songs and puts his own touch on each - he makes it fun! I’d highly recommend booking Bill for gigs!

Loads of fun

Bill is a regular at a weekly open mic I host in Davidson. He's one of the highlights of our Wednesday nights; me and the audience have loads of fun listening to him & his acoustic arrangements. He plays a broad array of styles, from folk, to country, to old timey rock & roll, and he always manages elicit a laugh through a joke or a song with comical lyrics. Always a pleasure.

What to expect

Expect a relaxed, professional, and musically engaging experience, with the focus always on creating a great vibe through songs people know and love. I arrive prepared, set up efficiently, and tailor each performance to suit your space, audience, and event.

You can expect well-known, well-loved songs delivered with strong vocals and acoustic guitar, at a volume that enhances conversation rather than competing with it — unless you’d like it otherwise.

I’m easy to work with, responsive in planning, and flexible on the day of the event. Whether you’re hosting a quiet afternoon gathering or a lively evening crowd, the goal is always the same: create a welcoming musical atmosphere that people enjoy and remember.

About

Looking for live music that elevates the room without overwhelming it?

Bill Barnett Solo Acoustic brings a stripped-down, soulful take on folk, rock, pop, blues, and Americana — from the 1960s through today — delivered with strong vocals, tasteful guitar work, and a deep respect for the song.

My repertoire draws from artists like James Taylor, Paul Simon, The Wood Brothers, Tom Petty, Billy Joel, The Beatles, Neil Young, Joni Mitchell, Willie Nelson, and more, blending familiar crowd-pleasers with a few smart, surprising choices that keep things fresh without losing the room.

I perform with a compact, professional setup and can easily tailor volume and tone for everything from intimate listening rooms and wineries to restaurants, private events, and outdoor gatherings. Fully self-contained with high-quality sound gear, or happy to plug into your house system when provided.

The goal is simple: great songs, well played, at exactly the right volume for your space.

Additional booking notes

I bring a compact, professional sound setup that works for most small- to medium-sized venues. No massive pedalboards or racks of gear — just high-quality acoustic guitar and vocals, fully self-contained, or happy to plug into your house system if provided. Minimal setup, maximum music.

Influences and inspiration

My musical influences span folk, rock, pop, blues, and Americana — artists who put the song first. From timeless songwriters like James Taylor, Paul Simon, Joni Mitchell, Neil Young, Tom Petty, Billy Joel, The Beatles, and Willie Nelson, to modern acts like The Wood Brothers, Indigo Girls, G. Love, Jack Johnson, Jason Mraz, and even Ren (whose “Big Push” era records are a perfect example of bold songwriting), I’m inspired by music that tells a story, creates a mood, and connects with an audience. I aim to carry that same balance of soul, melody, and intimacy into every performance.
