Everyone was incredibly impressed with Ben's performance! Multiple wedding guests asked for his information for their future events. Ben was very attentive in the planning process and provided excellent recommendations. He played a variety of music at the bride's request, including original songs. I would highly recommend Ben and hire him again in a heartbeat!
Ben played beautifully for my daughters wedding. Thanks Ben for your contribution to a wonderful ceremony.
Ben was so accommodating! He played exactly what I asked, and when I was unsure of what I wanted, he was creative and knowledgeable enough to come up with an arrangement that was perfect for the mood and setting. He was very friendly, laid-back, and professional. He gets my highest recommendation!
Price Range: $100 - $250
What to Expect
Being solo, I am able to provide much of the same music as a quartet but at a fraction of the price. Typically I am requested to play solo arrangements of many of the standard wedding music (Pachelbels Canon, Jesu Joy of man's desiring, and Wedding march) as well as classic solo cello works such as the famous Prelude to Bach's 1st Cello Suite. However, I can offer a wide range of music and styles.
For Wedding Services,
You can expect a repertoire of solo Bach and other classic music for the solo cello. Also, because of its growing popularity for weddings, I have learned to play all of the Piano Guys Music. However, this will require me to hire piano accompaniment which will affect my rate.
I have several original songs which involve playing cello and singing. I also have a list of non traditional (for cello) cover songs that I perform regularly. I use a loop pedal for many of these songs to create a full sound that more accurately captures the essence of the song.
I can arrange duos trios and quartets depending on your budget.
15 years cello experience.
Additional Booking Notes
The only real concern for a cellist is playing outside in inclement weather. Both rain and intense direct sunlight can be harmful to the instrument. The best way to ensure that we are both happy is to provide cover for me to play under. Of course if cover cannot be provided I will be happy to play as long as weather is forgiving, but it is a bit of a gamble.
