BassX is a sousaphone-led New Orleans jazz collective blending the city's traditions with a fresh, progressive sound. Led by GRAMMY-nominated sousaphonist Julius McKee, BassX brings together modern jazz, New Orleans classics, and second-line energy.
From weddings and cocktail receptions to corporate events, private celebrations, and festivals, BassX tailors the ensemble to fit the occasion. Our signature quintet delivers the complete BassX sound, with other configurations available.
Whether setting the atmosphere with sophisticated jazz or bringing guests to their feet with high-energy New Orleans grooves, BassX creates an experience that is unmistakably New Orleans.
