What to expect

You can expect me to lock in with the drummer to create a solid groove for the rest of the band to build upon. Can tastefully solo when called upon. Also, expect a highly energetic & interactive stage show. I also read charts, numbers & standard notation. Can also expect timeliness, friendly & professional demeanor.

About

Clayton Edwards is a seasoned DFW area bassist who is quickly being recognized as on of DFW's premier bass players. Currently, he is playing for one of Fort Worth's top country bands, Ransom Rhodes & the .30-30's, but he is always looking to fill his busy schedule with additional work. He is well versed in all genres of music from country to metal or from funk to punk, Clayton will lock in the the drummer & create that solid foundation that every band needs.

History
Clayton started playing bass in high school & like many young adults his age became engrossed in the local music scene in Amarillo. At the age of 20 Clayton decided to continue his career in Austin Tx, the live music capital of the world, where he joined the band Slider, later known as Good Night Goddess. Clayton quickly became known for his energetic stage show & continued with the band approximately 2 years before departing from Slider. While with Slider Clayton toured regionally, played several SxSW showcases & recorded "Fame! Fame! Fame!" After Slider, Clayton started playing Sunday morning worship services playing Contemporary Christian Music from many churches around Austin. He has played everything from the start up churches in a elementary school gym to the Mega Churches Christmas pageants in Lakeway Tx. Clayton split his time between the church & local country band The Ross Brunner Band (RBB). RBB was known as a crowd favorite & played many small town fairs. Most noted was Port O'Connors 1st Annual Beach Bash.

Clayton later moved back to Amarillo to finish his degree. While in Amarillo he was one of the founding members of Koresh Mode, punk band, & played many sub gigs even though his focus was on academics.

With his schooling completed he moved to DFW where he continues to live today. After only a few short months he established himself as a solid local bassist & is continually called for sub gigs. It is in Fort Worth that Clayton joined Ransom Rhodes. He continues to hold his position as bassist for Ransom Rhodes while continuing to gig around town. Ransom Rhodes & the .30-30's just recorded their 2nd EP, "Out on the Town", and are currently supporting their new EP. Clayton & the boys can be found playing around the FW Stockyards regularly & have also been featured on the Audi main stage at Grapefest & the main stage at HomeFest. Clayton can also be found playing upright either the Rye Boys, playing Reggae/R&B for Music & Melody, playing various church gigs, subbing around town or giving bass lessons around town.
