Overview
Need me for a booked show or a recording session?
I'm an experienced drummer, highly versatile across rock, blues, alternative, punk, power pop, progressive, fusion, country styles. Give me a setlist and we'll be playing live in one rehearsal. I do my homework, show up ready, drive dynamics and play on tempo. With acoustic and ekits, I can make any drum sound, backing track or unique triggered sound. I have a lot of performance, writing and recording experience.

What to expect
Give me a setlist, and we'll be playing live after one rehearsal. I do my homework, show up ready, drive dynamics and play on-tempo. With acoustic and ekits, I can make any drum sound, backing track or unique triggered sound, and I scale from a small club to a large concert stage.
I don't smoke, drink or take drugs, and I approach playing music professionally. That means I expect the musicians I play with to be professionals, too. My hourly and per-gig rates vary, depending on the situation; the amount of preparation, travel time, playing time (number of sets) and number of gigs you offer all factor in.
About
Since going drum crazy at age 10, Barry has studied and played classic rock, hard rock, southern rock, progressive, blues, country and many other styles of music with fabulous musicians. In addition to the drums, Barry plays rhythm guitar and sings, and he has years of experience playing live and recording, mixing and mastering in the studio. Influences include Frank Zappa, John Bonham, Neil Peart, Mike Portnoy, Clyde Stubblefield, David Garibaldi, Chris Layton, Phil Collins, Gavin Harrison, Peter Erskine and many, many others. He joined his first band at age 13 and has custom acoustic and electronic drum sets. Currently, he plays regularly with bands in the Colorado Springs area and subs when a band needs a drummer in a pinch.
Additional booking notes
I have a ton of gear, suited for any style and venue. My pride and joy: my acoustic 6-piece maple Cherry Red Gretsch 1985 Custom USA. I've also recently acquired a birch PDP Concept FX kit that sounds great as a working kit to save wear and tear on my high-end kit. Naturally I have a variety of cymbals and percussion add-ons for any style.
For gigs that require a modern approach, I have a custom ekit: a 7-piece Colbalt Blue Muzzio Element 2 with ecymbals (although I prefer to play with acoustic cymbals live). I've swapped all drums triggers to Extreme Drums and use eDrumin 10s to trigger Superior Drummer 3 with several dry custom presets that FOH engineers love. I have my own amps, mixer, cables, mics -- everything needed for any job. I am wired.
Most often I set up as a five piece, one up, two down. Lately I've been going bigger if I can with a 7-piece kit. For smaller venues, I go four piece with three cymbals.
You will need to provide power, stage and lighting.
