About
Music is Barrett's first language. Fluent in 12+ instruments, performing many genres, owning a studio and touring the country, he's been referred to as a chameleon in music, a swiss army knife of entertainment. What does the show need? What does the song need? What does the audience want? That's what Barrett goes after.
Glad to be backdrop, wallpaper, or ambiance to an event, as much as enjoying the spotlight and house concert scenarios where every pin drop is heard and audiences are caught in his spell.
Bluegrass, blues, Americana, classic rock, improvisation, jazz - Barrett's originals & selection of covers wades through all these waters. Barrett is glad to perform solo, duo, trio, four piece (acoustic, acoustic pluged in, or 'rock band' line-up) all the way up to an 8 piece with horns. Barrett performs most regularly as part of Hodie Snitch - outlaw country cover band, as well as The Barb & Barrett Show - husband wife duo.
Barrett has spent a lifetime creating music and entertaining. First as a production engineer, audio engineer, then as a touring multi-instrumentalist. He has performed with big stars (members of Funkadelic, My Morning Jacket, Fishbone, pAt mAcdonald) and local heroes (Jim Schwall, Gerald Dawd, Jon Langford, members of Henhouse Prowlers) has toured the country and got over seas, but has found a passion for staying near home to be wife and child.
Barrett's insatiable need to play is infectious. Sharing his joy for music with audiences brings them away from their lives for a moment or entire evening. Simply put: Barrett likes fun, and music is fun.
Additional booking notes
Depending on the gig and variation of group.
In general, ample stage space, power, food & drink, parking, is provided by the client or the client's event space provided, for the whole group - 1 (just Barrett) to 5 (a common band size Barrett provides)
Additional costs can be added as needed for sound, lights, & travel.
If a venue provides sound and lights, all technical mumbo-jumbo lingo will be discussed in advanced between Barrett and the provider. Barrett's years on tour, 1000 seat venues, and owning a studio makes him more than qualified for 99%+ gigs.
