Bariatric Surgery -A Dietitian's Journey

A presentation tailored for healthcare practitioners working in the weight management industry. I will tell my story so that they understand what can happen but can be prevented. I was at fault because I knew what to do but didn't do it.

Cathy is a Dietitian who specializes in weight management. She suffered from childhood obesity and ultimately underwent the RNY Gastric Bypass in 2002. She is a huge bariatric surgery advocate. Her surgery was easy and painless. She lost 100 lbs. Ultimately she encountered severe emotional complications related to losing her "drug of choice" food.

Keynote speaker Cathy Arias has worked as a dietitian and specializes in weight management. Her ultimate goal is to make sure that every patient who is researching bariatric surgeries is fully aware of what is involved in their post-surgical journey. Cathy’s keynotes are beneficial for dietitians, wellness coaches, physicians, behavioral specialists, nurses and other practitioners who would like to listen to the raw and unedited mental complications she experienced post-op that almost stole her life.
