I am the former Strength Coach for the University of Georgia Football Program and former athlete with 9 Big 10 Titles, 4 All American Honors, and 2x Olympic Trials Finalist. My experience as a coach and athlete has given me a different perspective towards life and how to live it fully.
I provide "On Fire" Speaking on various topics that challenge both kids and adults. My high energy and passion is demonstrated with each word spoken and my audience is left inspired and ready to tackle life. Topics covered are the following: overcoming ones environment, negative self talk, getting unstuck, dealing with past failures and many more!

November 4, 2024Sherman Armstrong coming to speak with my players was the highlight of the year for our program so far! My players were able to learn so much from him in just one hour. One part of Sherman's interactive talk that stood out to my players was the portion of the talk that focused on mastery. Sherman explained to my players that in order to master a skill, you need to put in maximum effort, constantly learn, and understand that mistakes are okay. The majority of my players are new to the sport of basketball, and they would often become disappointed if they messed up on the basketball court. Sherman's talk showed these girls how important it is to view mistakes as learning opportunities. I will make sure my players learn to celebrate mistakes and grow as opposed to focusing on the failed attempt. If you are a coach who is seeking to bring in someone who will impact your players for the better and change their outlook on life, Sherman Armstrong is the person you need to come work with your team. It is a competitive advantage to any coach or player who has the privilege to learn from not only a great person, but someone who has experienced the highest levels of success!

Born in Chicago on the South Side I grew up in a rough neighborhood. Wanting to escape my surroundings I fought hard each day and earned an athletic scholarship to the University of Illinois. I faced many challenges as a student but overcame and graduated leaving my print behind. I left Illinois a 9x Big 10 Champion and 4x NCAA All American. I continued running professional in California for Nike Athletics and later the Santa Monica Track Club. After 5yrs as a Pro Athlete I formed my own company VAST Sports Performance where we helped adults and athletes reach their goals. My family and I later moved to Tampa, Fl starting over from 0 to rebuild our business. We were successful and never gave up and after only a little over a year my wife and I were offered positions at the University of Georgia. I was the Associate Strength and Conditioning Coach for Football where we went to the SEC Championship Game and fell short to Alabama. After 3 seasons at Georgia we left to come back to Tampa and rebuild our business training adults and athletes. In less than 4 months we were able to bounce back training over 40 Clients per day.
Now firmly placed in Tampa my purpose in life is to not only build people up physically but to also impact them mentally to be great and achieve any goal with focus and determination.
