What to Expect
Decorating services: Depending on what the client wants to have done we may require to build decor on site. It is important for us to know what is the earliest we can get in to start building (some places allow you to come in to start decorating the night before) or if everything has to be delivered pre-made.
Balloon Twisting/Glitter Tattoo service: We require a table. If Glitter Tattoos are present we will also require 2 chairs. (one for the artist and one for the child getting glitterized). We show up 15 to 20 minutes early to set up our station so that we are ready to start on time. We pick up all of our balloon scraps/ garbage etc. before we leave so there is no added clean up left behind.
Balloon in a Box Canada was started in 2012 by Owner Melissa Sherk as a way to spend more time with her children while still being able to have adult interaction. Melissa Sherk has completed extensive balloon education (yes there is such a thing..and honestly you should always make sure that your balloon artist is actually accredited as such to ensure quality work will be received) through the Qualatex Balloon Network (QBN). She has invested alot into her skill, completed a variety of exams and performed a 4 hour hands on balloon practical exam in front of members from the QBN balloon board to earn her the title of "Certified Balloon Artist" and worldwide recognition as such from the QBN. Balloon in a Box Canada covers a large portion of SW Ontario for decorating and balloon twisting services.
Additional Booking Notes
Payments are made in full, in advance. Tip jars are allowed if doing festivals/fairs as there tend to be much longer lines and fewer breaks that actually happen. The artist reserves the right to stop for washroom breaks, water/food breaks as they need them. If you wish your artist to stay later than the agreed upon time frame you must speak with them directly to find out if they have another event to get to or if they have time. If they agree to stay, they must be paid before they leave as we are far to busy to chase down payments afterward. Providing your artist with an additional tip at the end of the day is not mandatory, however if you choose to do so they surely don't mind :)
Cancellation Policy: If you need to cancel you need to do it at least a week in advance. Payments are non refundable within the 7 days leading up to your event. The reason for this is because your artist will be using your payment at this time to purchase your supplies, prepare designs for your event and not booking any other jobs in your agreed upon time-slot. If you need to reschedule your event it needs to be done within the following 12 months on a date that works for both you as well as one of our artists.
A table is required and for outdoor events we need a shaded area. (Please inform us if we need to bring our own tent set up or if one is provided)
