What to expect
Whether we are shooting a meticulously planned interview or a fast-paced, "run and gun" live event, my goal is to deliver a seamless, stress-free experience from pre-production to the final edit.
Here is what clients and event planners can expect when working with me:
Thorough Pre-Production: We start with an initial consultation to get a "lay of the land." I dive deep into your specific requirements, vision, and venue logistics so there are zero surprises on the day of the event.
Polished Interview Setups: For structured, interview-style shoots, I bring a keen eye for detail. I handle everything from finding the perfect framing to setting up professional, flattering lighting and crisp audio before we ever hit record.
Dynamic, Adaptable Coverage: If your event requires quick thinking and mobility, I excel in high-energy environments. My "run and gun" style means I am highly adaptable, creative on my feet, and skilled at capturing candid, high-quality moments as they unfold.
Professionalism & Collaboration: Event planners can expect a collaborative partner who respects schedules, communicates clearly, and stays focused on delivering a stunning final product that aligns perfectly with the client's goals.
About
Dimitri Max is a writer-director and the creative force behind baffe. Born in Paris, his background spans design, electronic music, and technology. His perspective sits at the intersection of European sensibility and American commercial instinct.
That background informs everything: the visual precision, the rhythm, the instinct for what makes something stick. His slate includes award-winning short films, festival credits, and music videos for Billboard artists. He is currently in development on his next feature film.
Dimitri is available for commercial and music video direction through baffe, and welcomes collaborations with agencies and production companies looking for a specific narrative and cinematic voice.
Additional booking notes
Because every project is unique, technical requirements are tailored "case-by-case" during our initial consultation. Whether you want to be involved in every detail or prefer to completely hand off the logistics to me, my goal is to ensure the talent and client feel completely prepared, comfortable, and never surprised.
Depending on the scope of your project, here are the standard baselines we will determine during our planning phase:
Power Requirements: Access to at least one standard dedicated 15-20 amp outlet near the shooting location to power or charge lighting and camera gear (if shooting indoors).
Setup & Breakdown Time: * For Interview/Studio Setups: Approximately 45 to 60 minutes prior to start time for proper lighting, audio, and camera configuration.
For Run & Gun/Live Coverage: Minimal setup needed; typically ready to shoot within 15 to 20 minutes of arrival.
Space & Staging: For seated interviews, a quiet, controlled space of at least 10x10 feet is ideal to properly position the camera, talent, and lighting grid.
Audio & Environment: For shoots requiring clear dialogue, a venue with minimal background noise (away from loud HVAC units, traffic, or heavy foot traffic) is highly recommended.
Note to Planners: I supply all of my own high-quality video, lighting, and audio production equipment. If your venue has specific restrictions, loading dock rules, or insurance certificate (COI) requirements, just let me know during our initial chat and I will happily accommodate them!
Services offered
Setup requirements
Self-Contained Setup: I arrive fully prepared with my own professional camera, audio, and production gear.
Setup Time: Depending on the style of the shoot (such as a structured interview), I may need a small window of time (approximately 30 to 60 minutes) prior to filming to set up lighting and sound. For "run and gun" style coverage, setup time is minimal.
Power Access: Access to a standard wall outlet is appreciated for indoor locations to keep lighting and gear powered.
Space Requirement: No large stage is required, just a clear, safe area to set up a tripod and lighting stands if we are doing a stationary shoot.
