About

The Azalea Duo is Caeli Smith, violinist, and Jennie Brent, cellist, who are longtime musical collaborators and friends. We have performed hundreds of performances together, in New York City and beyond - including featured performances, as well as wedding ceremonies, parties, and other events.

Caeli Smith is a violinist and violist living in New York City, pursuing her graduate degree in viola performance at the Juilliard School. She made her concerto debut at age ten with the Philadelphia Classical Symphony. In 2015, Caeli was a top prizewinner in the Hudson Valley Philharmonic and Hugo Kauder Society Viola Competitions. In the summer of 2015, Caeli served as co-principal viola of the Verbier Festival Orchestra in Verbier, Switzerland. She is also a member of Symphony in C, a professional training orchestra based in New Jersey. She is a principal of The Juilliard Orchestra.

Jennie Brent is a cellist living in New York City. She has trained at the Bard College Conservatory of Music, and the Manhattan School of Music. She has appeared at music festivals including the Sejong Festival, the Bowdoin Music Festival, and the Aspen Music Festival. Jennie has taught and performed in China, Venezuela, and around the U.S. She is a passionate teacher, and works for the Harmony Program, an after school music education program in NYC.
