I am a Certified Zentangle Teacher (CZT), available to teach this meditative art form using pen and paper at private parties, corporate retreats, and other events. Materials are provided; no previous art training or experience is necessary. The Zentangle method promotes stress reduction, increased focus, creativity, and just plain fun!

Gig Length: 90 - 150 minutes
What to Expect
A client should expect to spend about 2 hours for a typical workshop. During that time, I will be introducing the Zentangle method, and leading each client through the creation of a unique piece of art, suitable for framing. The materials needed will be provided. Typically, I play soothing/meditative music during the session; the teaching method combines lecture and demonstration. One-on-one guidance will be given as needed. At the end of the session, participants will be encouraged to include their artwork with that of the others to form a mosaic, which they will be able to photograph if they wish as a further memento of their experience.
I have been a Zentangle artist since June of 2013, when I was given the recommendation to explore it as a means to reduce the stress of undergoing breast cancer treatment. I attended the certification seminar in October of 2014. Prior to this time, I had been a Decorative Artist since the mid-1980s, working in acrylics, oils, and watercolor to produce folk art items for sale and teaching Decorative Painting.
An event planner can expect that I would provide basic materials for each participant, and will lead the class through lecture and demonstration. At the end of a typical 2 hour workshop, the participants will have a completed piece of original artwork suitable for framing if desired.
After having lived in the Washington DC Metro area for many years, I relocated to Central Florida in July of 2010. Although my husband and I have no children, we do have a Balinese cat who THINKS he's a child :-) Along the way, I have managed doctor's offices, coordinated a rehabilitation program for a major non-profit agency, and served as a professional project manager for multiple Federal and non-Federal contracts. My passions are breast cancer advocacy, singing in Sweet Adelines (women's barbershop harmony), and, of course, creating beautiful works of art inspired by Zentangle!
Additional Booking Notes
For large groups/rooms, I would need a microphone and speakers in order to be heard. My demonstrations are done on a flip chart, set on a floor easel.

Influences & Inspiration
My greatest influence has been that of the founders of Zentangle, Rick Roberts and Maria Thomas. Their artwork is absolutely stunning! In addition, they are two of the most soulful, supportive and caring people I've ever had the honor to meet.
