Naathan Phan: The Asian Scotsman

NAATHAN PHAN: MAGIC ASIAN MAN is an Eagle Scout, an alumnus of the Orange County High School of the Arts, and a member of the Academy of Magical Arts, Inc. (A.K.A. The Magic Castle) in Hollywood, where he is the 2013 Strolling Magic Champion. Naathan began practicing magic when he fell in love with it at the age of 5, growing up in Scotland, and by 12, he was back in the US, performing at birthday parties for family and friends of family. Today, he is one of the busiest and most sought-after magicians in Orange County. You can see him every (nearly) every Thursday-Sunday night at Buena Park's hottest adult dinner cabaret show: "Teatro Martini" where he is their number one specialty act! He is in high demand for his close up shows and strolling magic which feature an uncanny mastery of improvisation, comedy, people skills, and what the French call “legerdemain”. In addition to his proclivity for deft, sleight-of-hand, Naathan is also an accomplished actor (He is a principal cast member of Southern California’s best interactive murder mystery dinner show, The Gourmet Detective, in Riverside. Film/TV credits include Reelz Channel’s Movie Up, Reno 911!, (link hidden) and Superbad.), a very strong singer of musical theater, classic rock, pop, and even opera (He has performed in musicals across Southern California since high school and his album, “Naathan Phan and his Incredible Attention-Getting-Machines” is due to be released on iTunes later this year), a published writer (Creative Writing being his major at the Orange County High School of the Arts, where he studied under the tutelage of SciFi/Fantasy greats James P. Blaylock and “On Stranger Tides” author, Tim Powers), an incredible celebrity impressionist (One of his act highlights features a psychic Christopher Walken), a dialect coach, stand-up comedian, and improvisational artist. Naathan utilizes all these skills in every magic performance, making his shows truly one of a kind and ensuring that they will never be forgotten. Perhaps that is why his talents have been featured at events for and/or hosted by the Make-A-Wish Foundation, the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America, C.H.O.C., The Parent Tree, AT&T, Western Service Workers, Wild Rivers, Double Tree Hotels, and Hyatt Regency… just to name a few!
