Sonare Strings provides beautiful music to help make your special occasion memorable. With a number of classical musicians in our network, we can provide a variety of ensembles from solo musicians to string quartets. We have experience playing for weddings, funerals, corporate and private parties and many other functions. With an expanded repertoire, we have music to meet your every need or we will work with you to accomodate any special requests that are not currently in our music library. Our goal is to provide quality, professional musicians to enhance your special event.

Compared to the other violinists I contacted, Kristyn was also the most flexible in terms of pricing since the total play time was only 15 minutes. Thanks again Kristyn!

August 26, 2015I appreciated the ease of working with Kristyn and Sonare Strings. They were open to my requests and in turn provided many suggestions when I couldn't decide music for the ceremony. They graciously played the theme to Game of Thrones for the after ceremony interlude which was huge with my husband and a hit with guests. Cost wise they were very competitive, the group showed up early (on a traffic dense Friday night ceremony no less) and played beautifully. You can't go wrong with Sonare Strings!

September 22, 2014I booked Sonare Strings for a surprise wedding proposal last week (she said yes). Throughout the process, Kristyn was very easy to work with and the quartet sounded great. They were able to perform songs I requested and they have a diverse catalog of songs that you can choose from as well. If I have another even that requires a quartet in the Twin Cities area, I will not hesitate to book them again.

Sonare Strings can provide a variety of music from traditional classical repertoire to pop music and show tunes depending on the preference of our client and the type of event. We can also provide formal string ensemble performances, background music or even strolling violin. Sonare Strings performers are professional in both their appearance and sound. Sonare Strings is a network of trained classical musicians who work to provide quality string music for special occasions. All of our musicians have completed a minimum of undergraduate college level music training. We love playing music and would be honored to work with you.
Kristyn Rupp, violinist and main contractor, has been playing violin since she was 5 years old. She has studied with the concertmaster of the Pasadena (CA) Symphony Orchestra, the assistant concertmaster of the Louisville Orchestra, and the assistant concertmaster of the Minnesota Orchestra as well as a highly esteemed music educator in the Minneapolis Metropolitan area. After completing graduate studies in violin performance and music therapy, she pursued a career working with seniors . She also serves as concertmaster of Exultate Chamber Orchestra and teaches elementary orchestra through the ISD 196 Community Education program.
We strive to be flexible in working with you to accommodate your needs; however, we have a few special requirements. For services other than strolling violin, we will need chairs without arms. Also, for events that are held outdoors, we will need to be in an area of shade or under a protective covering to protect our sensitive instruments from sun and heat.
