Perfect Music and Timing for an Unforgettable Proposal

Will helped me plan and perform the music for my marriage proposal and was fantastic. He was professional, responsive, and incredibly easy to work with throughout the entire process. I even requested a song that wasn’t in his repertoire, and he learned it and performed it beautifully. He coordinated the timing perfectly so the moment unfolded exactly as planned and helped create a truly memorable experience. Everything was flawless. I highly recommend him.

Wedding Reception:
I tend to pull from my full list of songs during receptions. A vast majority of the songs I play use backing tracks featuring guitar or piano, to standard karaoke tracks, to actual song backing tracks minus the original voice/instrument.

Dress Rehearsal: Generally unnecessary and discouraged.

Song Requests:
If you request a song in my set list, then the song request will be included in the price of the ceremony. If a song request is made that I do not have music for and I can find a backing track for, then I will create an arrangement of that song on violin to be premiered at the wedding for $30. If you make a request for a song that I do not have and cannot find a backing track for, then I will let you know as soon as possible and work with you to find another song.

Travel:
Events located within 25 miles of my home will not be charged for travel expenses. Any events 25 miles or farther from my home will be charge travel expenses at $0.70 per mile .

Payment Options:
Cash, check, money order, venmo, apple cash, and paypal to be paid no earlier than one week before the ceremony and no later than the day of the ceremony.

Considerations for outdoor weddings:

Stringed instruments are very sensitive to weather, therefore various considerations need to be made depending on the various conditions.

Temperature:
The colder it gets, the slower my fingers will start to work. If the temperature is forecast to be below 50 degrees, I may ask for a mug of hot water to hold and keep my hands warm. If the wedding is on an unusually warm or humid day, I may ask for water if it is available.

Precipitation:
If rain or snow is forecast and should there be no contingency plan to move the wedding indoors if necessary, I will bring with me a 10X10 canopy tent that I may set up to keep myself, my instrument, and my equipment protected.

Wind:
I use an IPad for my music and a computer for my backing tracks. Excessive wind (usually over 25 mph) can be problematic. I may need to find an area near a building or plants that block some of the wind. Wind issues of this magnitude are quite rare, but still an issue to be aware of at times.

Sunshine:
It’s a great day when there is beautiful sunny weather for a wedding. However, the sun dries out violin wood which can result in the instrument being difficult to play and in worst case instances cause edges and seems to open needing repair. When possible, I will try to set up in an area with shade. If there is no shade and I determine that shade is absolutely necessary, I may request to erect my 10X10 canopy tent.

Influences and inspiration

I was introduced to classical music at an early age, and it quickly became a natural part of my world. Growing up, my mother played a wide variety of music for me at home, but it was a single CD that shifted my curiosity into a lifelong passion: a recording of works by Camille Saint-SaĆ«ns. I still remember being completely captivated by the lush lyricism of his Violin Concerto No. 3 and the fiery brilliance of the Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso. These two works, in particular, felt like a musical awakening—they stirred something deep within me and lit a spark that would eventually lead me to pursue a life in music.

As I matured musically, I was fortunate to study under violinist Annette-Barbara Vogel during my college years. Her artistry had a profound impact on me. I had always respected technical mastery, but in her playing I heard something more—an uncompromising discipline paired with a kind of magnetic storytelling. Whether she was performing Bach, Brahms, or a 20th-century sonata, her performances were not just technically flawless—they were deeply captivating. She taught me to approach music as a whole, not just through the lens of accuracy or style, but with a responsibility to the emotional truth of the piece.

Later in life, I discovered the teachings of conductor and speaker Benjamin Zander. His interpretation masterclasses and lectures felt like an entirely new layer of insight. Zander’s ability to connect emotional intention with structural analysis helped me rethink performance—not just as a personal experience but as an opportunity to transform an audience. I especially resonated with his idea that music is not about impressing people, but about creating a sense of shared possibility, of deepened understanding. His work reminded me that interpretation is not only about fidelity to the score but about igniting something in others.

These influences—Saint-SaĆ«ns' romanticism, Vogel’s precision and artistry, and Zander’s transformative vision—have all left lasting marks on me. They continue to shape how I approach the violin, how I perform, and how I teach. Each time I step on stage or into a lesson, I feel the presence of those who inspired me—and the responsibility to carry their spirit forward through the music I make.
