I am a cellist in the Jackson, TN area and offer music for weddings or other special events as a soloist, as a duo, or a string trio or quartet. I have been playing for events since 2019, starting in my hometown outside of Atlanta, and have played for weddings throughout my 4 years living in the Nashville area. In addition to performing, I am a Suzuki cello teacher to students of all ages. With a classical background, complete with a B.M. in cello performance, I aim to bring music into our modern world through incorporating American styles into my playing. Music aside, I love crocheting, singing and learning new instruments, and hiking with my husband.

April 28, 2025I’ve never been a huge fan of classical music until I heard Annalisa play the cello. The passion Annalisa has for cello and for classical music is honestly contagious. You can’t help but to love and appreciate the cello with its diverse sounds and ranges. Annalisa is truly gifted and brings out the true beauty in her instrument and is the epitome of what musicians should strive to be.

Depending on the event, a performance includes 15-120 minutes of performance with solo cello, string duet, trio, or quartet. The musician will come prepared with the desired songs and pieces requested by the client to provide the most accurate and beautiful music to the audience. Whatever style the client desires, I will add that elegant, romantic, or Tennessee fiddle feel to make for a memorable event.
The musicians will arrive with music stands, a chair (for the cellist only, if it is not solo), and materials needed to have a successful performance. Amplification is not included and must be provided by the client, should they desire amplification or audio recording.
Annalisa Thomas is a cellist from Dacula, Georgia. She began learning piano at age 5 from her mother and cello at age 9, studying with Anne Hobbs through high school. She participated in the Gwinnett Youth Symphony Orchestra and the University of North Georgia’s chamber orchestra in high school, in addition to participating in workshops in Georgia, Tennessee, and Virginia year-round. With a heart for bringing music to the community, she joined the Nashville Praise Symphony in 2024 and began playing for weddings in Tennessee in 2023. Graduating in May of 2025 with bachelor’s in cello performance, she plans to continue performing throughout the south and continue teaching private lessons in Jackson, Tennessee in the fall of 2025.
Stringed instruments are made of wood, held together by glue, and must be kept in a regulated temperature at all times. Outdoor performances must be in a shaded area and not be above 85 or below 60 degrees Fahrenheit.
