From the moment you reach out, you'll work directly with us, not a sales team or a dispatcher. Here's what the process looks like:

We start with a short conversation to understand your event: the format, the audience, the energy, and any must-haves or hard no's. From there, we'll recommend a service package and build a custom music and event-flow plan around your vision.

Leading up to your event, you'll get a detailed timeline, a music planning questionnaire, and a dedicated point of contact for any changes or questions. On event day, we arrive early, set up quietly, and run sound checks before a single guest walks in.

During the event, expect polished transitions, crowd-aware mixing, and (if you've booked MC services) warm, confident facilitation of announcements, introductions, toasts, and special moments. We keep the pacing tight so your guests stay engaged without ever feeling rushed.

After the event, we break down efficiently and follow up to make sure everything landed the way you hoped.

Ampersound Media Group is a boutique entertainment and live event company based in Salt Lake City, Utah. Founded by Afia Chin-Roberts (Creative Director) and Adam Roberts (Sound Director), Ampersound brings nearly two decades of combined live performance experience to weddings, corporate events, private celebrations, conferences, and community gatherings across the Mountain West.

We don't do generic. Every event gets a tailored approach built around your audience, your goals, and the energy you want in the room. Adam brings precision sound design, seamless mixing, and music curation that reads the crowd in real time. Afia brings confident emceeing, event hosting, spoken word performance, and the kind of presence that keeps a room moving without feeling forced.

Together, we handle both sides of the stage: the energy from the booth and the voice from the front. Whether you need a DJ who disappears into the vibe or a full DJ + MC team guiding every transition, we shape how people feel in a room.

Sound. Presence. Atmosphere.

We bring our own professional-grade sound system to every event. No reliance on venue equipment unless specifically discussed in advance.

Equipment includes: DJ controller, powered PA speakers (scalable for 50 to 500+ guests), subwoofer, wireless microphones (handheld and lapel), monitor speakers, uplighting (available upon request in brand-coordinated or custom colors), and all necessary cabling and backup hardware.

Power requirements: Two standard 120V outlets on separate circuits within 25 feet of the DJ setup area. Extension cords provided on our end.

Space requirements: Minimum 6' x 4' table space for DJ setup. Ideally positioned with line of sight to the dance floor or main gathering area. For events with ceremony and reception in the same space, we plan for equipment repositioning during transition.

Setup time: 60–90 minutes depending on event complexity. We always arrive a minimum of one hour before guest arrival.

Indoor and outdoor events accepted. For outdoor events, we require a covered or shaded setup area and a backup weather plan.

Travel: Events within 50 miles of Salt Lake City included at no additional charge. Beyond 50 miles, travel fees apply. National bookings welcome with travel and lodging accommodated.
