Highly recommend!

Reposting my review from "Wedding Wire": Musicians from Ambience Live performed at our engagement party in May of 2026. We requested a string quartet to play background classical music for the "reception" portion, and that was all the information they needed, performing the perfect soundtrack for the event. All musicians were from the prestigious Julliard. They were a fantastic addition that elevated our event - super organized and on the ball. I couldn't recommend them enough!

Ambience Live brings conservatory-level musicianship to your event - whether that be your wedding ceremony, a cocktail hour, a hotel lobby or a corporate reception. The repertoire is shaped around the room and the people in it, from classical favourites and jazz standards to timeless hits and Bridgerton-style string arrangements of modern pop songs.

When you book Ambience Live, you get more than musicians on the day. We handle everything behind the music:

Personal communication to best understand your vision and event timeline.
Curated repertoire and instrumentation, including custom arrangements of special requests.
Coordinated rehearsals so every performance is seamless and well prepared.
Communication with your venue, planner and other vendors, including sound needs and insurance certificates.
Backup musician cover in case of illness or last-minute changes.

Ambience Live combines years of performing at weddings and events with experience behind the scenes. Our aim is simple: clients don’t have to worry about the details, and on the day, all anyone notices is the music!

Additional booking notes

Ensemble options -->

Solo, duo, trio, quartet or larger ensembles (5+). Instruments include strings (violin, viola, cello, double bass), guitar, voice, flute and piano/keyboard. We tailor the line-up and repertoire to each event.

Performance space -->

A flat, level and stable surface. Approximate space needed:
Solo: 4 × 4 ft
Duo: 6 × 6 ft
Trio: 8 × 6 ft
Quartet: 10 × 8 ft
Larger ensembles: by arrangement

Armless chairs for seated players (cellists and most string players), provided by the venue.
No formal stage is needed. For larger rooms or concert-style settings, a low riser helps with sightlines and sound.
Musicians bring their own instruments, music stands and stand lights.

Lighting -->

Enough light to read sheet music clearly. For dim or evening settings, we bring battery-powered stand lights.
For concert-style or showcase performances, soft front lighting on the performers is ideal. No specialised lighting is needed.

Sound -->

Most performances are fully acoustic and need no amplification for up to about 100–150 guests indoors.
Amplification is recommended for outdoor events, large or noisy venues.
We can work with clip-on amplification for an additional fee.
If a pianist or singer is included, we need an in-tune venue piano (or space and power for a keyboard) and vocal microphones. These details are confirmed during planning.

Outdoor performances -->

Instruments must be shaded from direct sunlight and protected from rain and wind.
Comfortable playing temperatures are roughly 60–90°F (15–32°C). Outside that range, we may need to adjust the set-up or the instruments used, or portable heating is required.

Arrival and set-up -->

Musicians arrive a minimum of 15 minutes before the first performance to set up, tune and do a sound check.

Please provide:
Accessible loading or parking information.
A secure place to store instrument cases.
Drinking water for the musicians.
For events 3 hours or more, a short break or a meal.

Planning and coordination -->

We confirm timings, music cues (such as processional and recessional), sound needs and venue logistics in advance with the client, planner and venue.
A certificate of insurance is available for venues that require it.

We offer all kinds of repertoire - from classical and jazz to timeless favorites and Bridgerton-style covers of modern pop songs. We are also able to perform specific songs/pieces that you would like to hear at your event!
