Overview

Alone Tonight Quartet (plus or minus one) is jazz with a rebellious streak—where vintage elegance gets a playful side-eye and tradition is just a suggestion. We take timeless melodies, throw in a dash of Parisian mischief, stir it up with toe-tapping rhythms, and serve it with a smirk. Whether you’re a jazz snob, a swing dancer, or just here for the vibes, we’ll transport you to a smoky café, a moonlit alleyway, or an old film where you may or may not be planning a heist. Expect swing, sass, and absolutely zero respect for the status quo.

About

After some time playing under the name Seul Ce Soir Quartet, this group of Django Reinhardt fans recently settled on the much easier to spell "Alone Tonight Quartet." Piano, drums, and bass make up the steady back line, while a cast of guest soloists sit in to fill out the fourth (or fifth) in this combo. Expect to hear songs from old films, cabarets, and Looney-Tunes as heard through the floorboards of your cheap apartment upstairs from the theater.

Additional booking notes

Performance Requirements
* Performance Space: Minimum 10’ x 10’ area for quartet setup. Larger spaces may be needed for additional musicians.
* Electrical Needs: Access to at least one standard 120V power outlet for amplification (if required).
* Seating & Staging: Chairs without arms for seated musicians; a small stage is preferred but not required.

Sound & Equipment
* Acoustic Setup: The quartet can perform fully acoustic for intimate venues or background music settings.
* Amplified Setup: If a larger sound presence is needed, the group may bring their own PA system or coordinate with the event’s sound team.
* Microphones: Depending on the event size, vocal microphones and instrument mics may be necessary. The group can provide their own or use venue equipment if available.

Setup & Timing
* Load-in & Setup: 30–60 minutes before performance time. Additional time may be required for large events.
* Soundcheck: If amplification is used, a short soundcheck (15–20 minutes) is recommended.
* Breaks: Standard performance structure includes a 5–10 minute break per hour of playing. Break music can be arranged if needed.

Environmental Considerations
* Outdoor Events: Shade or cover is required to protect instruments from sun, wind, and rain. Backup indoor space is advised in case of bad weather.
* Temperature: Performances in extreme heat, cold, or high humidity may require accommodations for musician comfort and instrument safety.

* Deposit & Payment: Rates vary based on event type, duration, and travel. Deposits may be required for larger bookings.
* Contact & Coordination: Event planners should provide a detailed schedule, venue contact person, and any special requests at least one week before the event.
