Overview

The Alex Valdez Trio is a group of highly talented and experienced jazz musicians from different areas of the country consisting of guitar, bass, and drums. The trio plays jazz standards and tunes from the Great American Songbook. The group gigs often in different cities across the Bay Area including Vacaville, Fairfield, and Sacramento. The AVT is perfect for weddings, dinners, bars, corporate events, and more!

What to expect

A jazz trio that is perfect for background music during cocktail hours, dinners, parties, etc. Depending on the length of the gig, the trio will typically play a set of music, then take a small break unless dinner is being provided which will promote a longer break. Another set of music will be played afterward.

About

Alex Valdez is a freelance bassist residing in the Bay Area, CA gigging with a few groups regularly. A 2019 jazz studies graduate of Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, Alex has worked with many world-renown musicians including Kurt Elling, John Raymond, Walter Smith III, Felix Peikli, Gregory Tardy including Bay Area natives Wayne Wallace, Michael Spiro, and Murray Low. Having freelanced around the Midwest, Alex is versatile in many genres of music including jazz, Latin, rock, pop, blues, country, etc.

Guitarist Tomas Antonic currently resides in the Bay Area, CA being active in several different groups. He has freelanced in different areas of the US including the east and west coasts, and the Midwest. Having studied at Sonoma State University in Rohnert Park, CA and Berkeley College of Music in Boston, MA, he has worked extensively with many artists including world-renown jazz artists Kurt Rosenwinkel and Mike Stern, as well as toured with independent rap artist R.A.P. Ferreira (formerly known as milo and Scallops Hotel).
