Overview

I play and sing the music I love. Primarily Jazz standards from the 1920s through the 1960s. However, I feel a great song is just that: A great song! Therefore, I also maintain an eclectic mix of classics from all eras and genres, infused with my own unique style, of course!
I am pleased to offer a lean, mean outfit that is scalable. I can tailor my group size to your needs. I start with a trio, but the group can be scaled down to a duo, or up to a powerful, sixteen-piece orchestra. If you like a specific sound –say, preferring piano over guitar, or brass over woodwinds– I can do that, too. And, I am always open to specific song selections. If I don’t already know it, I will learn it!

Alan Pollard Trio Steals the Show!

The Alan Pollard Trio was the absolute soul of our Bourbon, Jazz, and BBQ night.

We wanted live music that wasn’t just background noise but truly set the mood and brought people together—and Alan and his band delivered in spades. From classic jazz standards to fun requests, they played with such passion and skill that the whole room felt alive.

A special highlight was guitarist Paul Metzger joining them for the evening. James and I have seen him perform at Scat Jazz Lounge in Fort Worth, so having him there felt like a special treat and added an extra spark to the night.

People kept coming up to me saying how amazing the music was. The Trio didn’t just play songs—they created an atmosphere, tying the entire event together with smooth, soulful sounds that had people swaying, smiling, and soaking in every note.

As I told some friends that night—anyone can pick up an instrument and play songs, but when you truly love the genre, it shows. Alan Pollard Trio loves jazz, and you can hear it in every single note.

If you’re looking for a band to elevate your event from good to unforgettable, look no further than The Alan Pollard Trio. They’re the real deal!

Booking information

Price range: $500 - $12,000

Languages: English

Gig length: 30 - 240 minutes

Unions: AFM

What to expect

We can be as high-energy as you require, or we can be as low-key as you need, or both... just not at the same time!

Typically, we are asked to play a forty-five minute or 1 hour cocktail set, followed by one, two, or three show sets. This is, of course, completely flexible, and fully negotiable. We will adjust to the specific needs of your event!

About

I am a career musician, vocalist, and actor. As a, "hired gun," (sideman), I have national and international touring credits, covering all styles and genres of music. As a bandleader, I prefer to work locally, utilizing the amazing talent available in the Dallas-Ft Worth area. However, I am totally open to travel. I've performed with various groups around Europe, and as a solo artist in London, UK. My musical focus is traditional, crooner-style, hard-swinging Jazz (Frank Sinatra, Mel Torme, Sammy Davis Jr, Tony Bennett, etc...), and Jump Blues (Louis Prima, Louie Jordan). One of my fortes is vocal Jazz improvisation, also known as, "scat singing," (a la Ella Fitzgerald and Mel Torme). I do not, however, limit my groups stylistcally. We can play it all, from Big Band, to Bossa Nova, to Hard Bop, and everything in between... or beyond. I even do Classic Rock/Soul solo and duo acts!

Additional booking notes

All elements regarding event and venue needs are negotiable. Please provide as much specific detail in your bid request as possible!

*For small venues which only require a small group of 2-4 ensemble members, I travel light, employing my own minimal, yet effective, sound system, for which there is no additional charge. For groups of 5 or more, additional sound support is usually required and will add to the final cost. If a smaller venue requires additional lighting, I can supply that as well, at minimal additional cost.

*For larger venues, it is expected that the event organizer or venue will supply a complete, professional-grade sound and lighting system, as well as professionals responsible for the setup and operation of those systems. I provide stage plots in advance so that the sound/lighting teams can prepare in advance for our arrival to setup and sound-check.
