Overview
A.J. Benoit is a versatile singer/performer singing most every genre of music: Crooner, Country, "Opera", Irish, Scottish, Maritime/Nfld. Sacred, 50/60's Rock & Roll, WWII Songs, Caribbean, Oktoberfest, Show Tunes. He is recognized as Brockvilles Premier entertainer. A.J. performs as a soloist with piano player, or will perform with a band and female singers. A.J. will perform in costume whether it is a Tuxedo, Tails, Dinner Jacket, Scottish or Irish Kilt, Capt'n Jack Sparrow Pirate Outfit, A.J. will play the part. And A.J. will perform in the dialect of genre. A.J. also sings at wedding and celebration of life services. Indicate your theme and A.J. will design a show to suit the occasion.

About
Bio
A.J. Benoit is known as one of eastern Ontario's premier entertainers. He is a native of Brockville and has been involved in music since the age of 15. A.J. plays a variety of musical instruments and is a triple threat performer having performed in numerous musical productions at the Brockville Art Center and the Kingston Grand Theater. He played the lead male character, Petruccio in “Kiss Me Kate”, Herbie in “Gypsy”, Johnny Casino in “Grease”, The Mikado in “The Mikado”, Bob Cratchit in "A Christmas Carol" and Don Lockwood (the part Gene Kelly played) in “Singin’ in the Rain” to name a few!
A.J. also wrote and produced the musical production “Bless ‘Em All – A Musical Tribute to the Veterans of WWII which he played the part of The Sgt. Major.
The show made a net profit of $25,000 which was donated to the Brockville Royal Canadian Legion Poppy Fund!
Aside from acting on stage A.J. has created many musical groups and is the lead singer in “The Blarney Show Band” a Celtic group made up of 6 musicians, "The Crooners” a quartet featuring pianist, bassist and drummer and a trio called “The Mixed Nuts” which perform most every genre of music you could think of to include opera! He has a two person group called "A.J. & Andy" which performs a show called "Around The World With A.J. & Andy" they sing and play songs from many countries in many languages! This group also appears as Capt'n A.J. & Andy performing Pirate songs and songs from the Caribbean! Another popular group is "The Memory Makers" a 4 piece group re-living the memories from The Rat Pack Era. For a comedic element A.J. performs in a trio called "The Country Bumpkins" singing old time country & bluegrass songs with laughs along the way!
Another very popular group is "A.J. & The Buttercups" The Buttercups are 3 accomplished triple threat performers that back-up A.J. and have solo performances as well! His latest creation is "A.J. & The Cadillac's a 6 piece 50's Rock n' Roll band! He is well known for his Variety shows featuring over a dozen accomplished actors, singers, and musicians as they perform songs and skits reminiscent of the 1950’s, 60’s and 70’s era.
A.J. has represented the City of Brockville at numerous city functions and has written many songs including "The Good Ole' Hockey Game", "Christmas in Brockville Town" and “Brockville My Home Town” which he gifted to the City. This song was performed for the descendants of "The Brock Family" as part of the 1812 Sir Issac Brock Ceremonies in 2012. His latest song "Canada 150 Song" is a salute to Canada's 150th Birthday.
A.J. performs at many private functions and is often featured as guest soloist throughout the region.

Influences and inspiration
I sing so many genres of music I have had many influences. I have been influenced by many of the great artists from the 40's/50's &60's. The Rat Pack, Perry Como/Dean Martin/Andy Williams specials. Variety Shows like Jackie Gleason, Folks sings like Peter, Paul & Mary, Classical singers like The 3 Tenors.
