January 23, 2023Dana did an amazing job at my glitter themed graduation party! We needed a glitter artist to have a glitter bar where guests can have glitter (and gems too if they liked) applied to their faces. Dana went above and beyond with the beautiful glitter designs and colors the guests all loved it and enjoyed it very much! She made the party extra special, fun, and fabulous! She brought all different colors and sorts of glitter and gems and created marvellous work. The designs looked incredible and she even stayed for as long as the guests needed! If anyone needs a glitter artist for their party I highly recommend Dana! She will do her very best to make your event super special!! And she has a great rate too!

January 22, 2017Dana is sweet. My guest love her works. I gave her a two star for the fact that she started late and we have to wait for her to finished cleaned up and packed her things before we can leave the venue. She has a lot of stuff. My guest even help her carry her stuff back to her van . My event is indoor, and I did not expect ed her to have a tons of photo boards that she placed all over. And my venue is not that big to accommodate them. It's probably ok if it's outside but I certainly don't have a heart to put a 70 plus year old woman in this cold weather. So when she asked me where to set up , I told her near the fire place but I was shocked with the stuff that she set up.
Another issue with her is length of time. Our contracted time is 2 hours, and I appreciate it that it will be honored. And asked first if we want her to continue beyond the contracted hours. As a host , I was so busy and was shocked when I realized that she was still there at 7 pm, she's supposed to be done at 0530 pm. And she charge $60 / hour beyond the contracted hours. As sweet as she may be but I definitely won't hire her service again.

Wow. I have 50 great reviews on Thumbtack.com, after 27 yrs also have endless letters & even thank you cards from clients as well. Many clients say I'm their Face Painter for life & they will never hire anyone but me. Yet I'm so sad to disappoint you in anyway, Grace.
I painted a custom Paw Patrol Photo Board w/your lovely daughter's name & age on top. I went over the boards & what I would be doing prior to the party & you seemed very happy w/all of it. I normally show up 30 to 45 min. early… But I had problems w/the board & got there as quickly as I could. I painted for over 4 hrs. non-stop & will only keep the $150 you paid me.
I asked you to carefully read the invoice which says it's $75/hr for the lst 2 hrs & $60/hr after. We were all in the same room. I painted nonstop until 7:30. You never hinted for me to leave.
I will have my clients approve what I bring from my van & leave no matter how many children are there from now on. Thanx for your feedback, Grace. Loved your family!

I was an Advertising Consultant for AT&T Yellow Pages/Internet for 20 years and started volunteering my face painting skills for many charities decades ago! I volunteered for the Ice Cream Safari at the Sacramento Zoo, for Muscular Dystrophy, Leukemia Fundraisers and many more. When I retired, I realized I needed to supplement my retirement income to survive! People had been asking me to face paint for their Grand Openings, Birthday Parties, Anniversaries, etc. for years...so I decided to accommodate them!
Along the way I meet a great group of people who meet once a month to keep up on their skills, the latest safe products, industry news, etc. These are dedicated professionals who though they have years of experience, recognize the need to stay current. Many pro's I invite don't see the need! These people realize that especially because our industry isn't regulated yet...we MUST spend the time to meet with these other pros! I found out thru them that there are many painters in the Greater Sacramento area using INFERIOR FACE PAINTS and even ACRYLIC PAINT on kids' sensitive skin! These paints and body glues that are NOT FDA APPROVED, can cause an irritation for 3 to 5 days!! I've since worked with many of them and for example, I worked at one large company painting 20 of their carnival games for weeks and I saw when their bounce houses come back from a job, they have their crew CLEAN AND DRY their equipment prior to putting it back into their warehouses. THIS IS SO IMPORTANT! So I found the best pro's for EVERYTHING...the bounce houses, magicians, a real retired Disneyland Artist who does awesome caricature art, the best balloon twisters, petting zoos, dunk tanks, sources for cotton candy/snow cone/hot dog machines, tents, tables, hairs, etc., etc. So companies or parents can make one call to me and I can get everything and everyone they need to have the event/party of their dreams! It's an awesome service I offer for FREE to all of my clients!!
