March 15, 2022Rorie Kelly is a super talented musician! We hired Rorie for our wedding dinner on Long Island. We a selected number of songs from her song list that we wanted her to play but she also read the room and played some crowd pleasers. Our guests were singing along the entire night! She's a total professional and was so sweet with the kiddos who naturally surrounded her, mesmerized as she played. Would recommend Rorie for any and every event. Thank you Rorie!!

May 16, 2021I normally don't write reviews but I feel that I have to write one for Rorie Kelly. I just had a backyard 60th birthday party for my wife. Having only 2 reviews made me a little nervous to book Rorie. As it turned out, I couldn't have made a wiser choice. She was absolutely delightful to deal with and her voice was beautiful. She played a variety of music that pleased everyone from teenagers to seniors. I would absolutely book Rorie for my next party. ( I can't wait for my wife to turn 65!)

September 9, 2018Rorie preformed at a 50th bday party I had at my home. Everyone LOVED her! Her voice is amazing, she has the sweetest, most chill personality, was able to read the room and play songs that everyone enjoyed. She was conscious of the volume level and adjusted as needed...Can't say enough about her - I want to throw another party just to have her come back to sing!!!

I love what I do and have a great time doing it - so expect that joyful mood to be infectious. You will get a performance that speaks right to the heart, as well as moments of pure fun. Anytime I play music it is a celebration.
I first got into music when I heard a song on the TV late at night, and it spoke to me so much that I knew in that moment I had to devote my life to this. I was 12 years old. I began teaching myself to play the guitar the very next day. It has been a long and beautiful journey and I have not regretted a moment of it.
I am a singer and guitarist with over 10 years of experience performing. People hearing me often say "I can't believe that voice came out of that body." I have a big range and I am just as comfortable rocking through an Alanis tune, as singing a sweet folk ballad. My voice carries the full range of human emotions.
After years of performing at different types of events, I know when it's time to be funny and lively and keep the whole crowd engaged, and also when it is time to step back, play background music and let the guests enjoy the special night. I am a nuanced performer and I can help you give your event the mood you want it to have.
I am punctual and organized, and show up prepared. My job is not just to entertain your guests but to let you enjoy your event without stressing over the details. I have my own sound system and I liaison with venues as needed to discuss sound setup, so you do not have to be a go-between for the more technical questions.
If I am bringing sound to the event all I require is space to set up and access to a 3-pronged electrical outlet.
If the venue has a PA system I need a mic (or a place to plug in mine) and a DI box or access to plug in my guitar cable.

I perform favorites from the 1950s to today including folk, rock, country and blues music. I know a big collection of love songs appropriate for weddings, as well as just general favorite tunes that will get people singing along and tapping their feet. For moments that just need a little background music, I play soothing acoustic guitar music that lend the special mood you are looking for. I also have an extensive collection of original music if you are looking for something a little different.
If you must have a particular song (or songs) let me know! If it is a popular song there's a good chance I know it already. I will always learn 1-2 new songs for an event free of charge. If you would like me to learn an entire set of songs of your choosing that is an option too--reach out to me to discuss pricing.
I am influenced by powerful female singers and songwriters across generations. Alanis Morisette, Joni Mitchell, Bonnie Raitt and Sara Bareilles are just a few.
I have an easy set up - electricity is all I need in most cases :)
