We are a 2 piece blues duo from Lakewood, NY. We blend acoustic and electric guitar with a classic blues vocal styling to create a very real and raw blues/rock sound that will have everybody dancing and singing along.

A Strange Kind of Sunshine is a two-man blues band playing great classic blues standards by artists like Chuck Berry, Muddy Waters, and Eric Clapton. A Strange Kind of Sunshine also writes and performs original blues music ensuring a one-of-a-kind show that can be seen nowhere else. Benjamin Blood (vocals, rhythm guitar, harmonica) and Charlie Backus (Lead Guitar/Backing Vocals) boast over a decade of musical experience and are dependable musicians who pride themselves on showing up on time, delivering a quality performance, having a few drinks with fans, and establishing positive relationships with bar owners and patrons alike.
Benjamin Blood is the winner of the Chautauqua Lake Idol Vocal competition.
