Overview

If you want some good clean fun, check us out. We're not prudes. We just know that on many occasions it's appropriate to be a little more careful about what music is played. Don't give grandma a coronary from hearing the F-bomb dropped from a song the DJ is playing.

You will help us determine how 'clean' you want the event to be and we'll make it happen.

Music for large community event

David provided several hours of family-friendly Americana classics and perfectly timed music for our fireworks show—it was a hit with the crowd! He worked closely with us to tailor the playlist to our vision and maintained great communication throughout the process.

Worst DJ ever

He ruined our ceremony by cutting off the music while I was walking down the aisle because he "could not see us." Our wedding coordinator told him to keep the music going since I had not finished walking down the aisle yet, but he refused to listen to her. He also harassed us with multiple texts the day before our wedding, insisting on going over information we had already discussed in several phone calls. He forgot multiple things on our timeline, even though it was printed out for him and discussed over multiple phone calls over the past year. Additionally, he could not find information that I emailed him, even though it was clearly written on his "wedding worksheet." He tried to change our vision for our wedding by offering unwanted opinions and strongly recommending ideas two days prior to the event. An absolute nightmare of a DJ. Don’t hire him unless you want a terrible experience.

Thank you for your feedback. I’d like to address the concerns raised regarding the ceremony music. The song was faded out earlier than expected due to an obstructed view of the bride's entrance. My setup location, which was determined beforehand, unfortunately limited my visibility of the procession. This was compounded by the unexpected placement of a chain link fence with a climbing rose and the fact that guests stood up as the bride rounded the corner, completely blocking my view. These factors made it challenging to accurately follow the bride's movements. Based on what I could see, it appeared she had completed her walk to the front, which is when I faded the music. I sincerely apologized for this mistake on the day of the event.

Regarding the coordinator’s role, it’s important to note that she was not standing beside me as described but was positioned approximately 20 feet in front of me. While she attempted to communicate with hand gestures, I did not understand their meaning in the moment, and by the time I realized, the bride had already reached the front. I deeply regret any confusion this caused.

I also want to clarify some additional points. Although unexpected rain affected the reception, I continued to provide my services despite the inadequate canopy provided to protect my equipment. While my policy allows me to cease services if proper protection isn’t available, I chose to stay and complete my work, despite being thoroughly soaked by the end of the evening. My priority was to ensure the best possible experience under the circumstances.

I understand that this was a deeply significant day, and I strive to provide exceptional service at every event. While I’ve addressed the main concern about the music honestly and thoroughly, I believe some of the other claims made in these reviews are exaggerated. I remain committed to professionalism and fairness and appreciate the opportunity to share my perspective.

Very Professional & Easy

David was our DJ and emcee for a corporate dinner. He did a great job of setting expectations for the evening and was flexible with some last-minute changes from our end. He checked in with me multiple times before the event to make sure we were on the same page! The playlist was exactly what we asked for and created a great atmosphere. Thank you David!

I would definitely recommend a family friendly DJ!
David was very friendly and professional! We hired him for our wedding reception & he was great! He kept us on track with our scheduled events like the dances and toasts, and was very communicative through the whole process from booking to going through the whole reception!

Wonderful MC, pleasant interactions, and great music

Wonderful music selection, took what we wanted, fulfilled and even exceeded expectations. Works amazingly with guest requests, coordinators schedule and my on my fly addition to the event. Flexible, respectful, and an amazing MC. You can't go wrong with A Family Friendly DJ such as David!

With 20 years of DJing he knows what's up. If ever I need a DJ I know who I'm hiring!

From one to another, Semper Fortis.

What to expect

There are three things I think that really make me stand out from other DJs. First is keeping it clean (hence the company name). I work very hard to keep the music family friendly. I read the lyrics of new songs and categorize accordingly. I purchase special 'radio edits' of today's hits (cleaner versions that are allowed to be played on the radio and that are not available to the general public) to keep things clean and fun. I can play music that is squeaky clean (like I do for many churches) or just limit it to just no profanity (like most of my other clients) or somewhere in between.

The second is communication. Good communication prevents mistakes and helps things run smoother with less stress for everyone. Before we even sign a contract I will make sure I have a clear understanding of what you are expecting in a DJ and that I can fulfill that expectation otherwise I won't take the job.

I'll use weddings as an example. At weddings I don't play songs about breaking up, cheating on your spouse, etc. I know it sounds silly but most Djs don't even think about something like that.

Third is the music itself. Like just about every other DJ out there I have thousands of songs available from many genres spanning 70+ years. Where I think I stand out is WHAT I play depending on the type of the event. However, I don't have much rap music. I have SOME but it is very difficult to find that is both popular AND family friendly. If you want a lot of rap, I am probably not the DJ for you.

Corporate events, school dances, charity events, golden anniversaries, birthday parties... they all have different needs and need to be handled appropriately. Call me and we can discuss YOUR needs.

Here is a list of things that are included at no additional cost:
*Unlimited phone consultations
*MC work during the event
*The use of a wireless microphone
*A deluxe 4-in1 dance light system for small to medium dance floors
*Set up and take down time
*Travel time within a 1 hour drive from my home in Vancouver

I love to take requests from the guests. However I primarily play the genres of music YOU have requested. You're the one paying the bill, after all.

Safety, integrity, and professionalism are important to us. We (my wife and I) operate with an actual business license and are fully insured. That is something not all DJs do so be careful.

My style is simple and fun. I don't 'scratch' or alter the music when I play it. I think more people enjoy dancing to great songs the way they were originally recorded and don't want to hear a DJ 'showing off'.

Whatever your need for a DJ is, call me and I will gladly answer any questions.

If this is for a wedding, I have developed a helpful tool called a 'Wedding Worksheet' to help guide clients through many of the challenges and pitfalls associated with a wedding and reception which you will also receive from me. My goal is to help you have the most wonderful experience imaginable while taking as much stress off you as possible.

I have the greatest job in the world because I am able to make people happy by playing great music. I am thrilled when I can help make a bride's dream of a magical wedding and reception come true. I am ecstatic when at a corporate Christmas party I turn what would have been a hum-drum get together into an outright party. I take great satisfaction when students come up to me during a school prom and thank me for doing a great job. I ask, who WOULDN'T love to do this?

About

I started DJing when my church asked me to play music for its youth dances. Because I spent so much time researching and obtaining music that was fun AND clean for those dances I wondered if there was a niche for a 'clean' DJ that I could fill and make a living with. That was over 20 years ago so I guess that answer is 'YES'.

I do well with clients that want good, fun music without the worry that they might hear profanity that might be offensive to them or their guests. I do a lot of weddings, anniversary parties, reunions, and corporate events. among other things.

Set list

I never go into a gig with a set list of songs I will play. After discussing with my client about what their musical tastes are and what required songs they want to hear, I begin to make a play list onsite.

Setup requirements

I need power and protection from the elements. I do have a pop-up canopy I can bring that I charge extra for.
