AC Jones and her band is one of the hottest regional, high energy country acts around today. Fronted by AC Jones, the band performs country covers and AC's originals. The band is fully self contained, being able to provide its own FOH sound, backline, and lighting and is prepared for any type of event such as featured concerts, opener for a national touring act, fairs, festivals, rodeos, corporate events, and conventions.
On 10 July I attended a performance of Amanda and her band and I was not only blown away by their musical talent, but I was impressed with their adaptability to the audience. They performed at an RV Rally in Tiffin Ohio before 5 or 6 hundred people who were mostly over 60 years old. Although I personally loved every minute of their 2 hour performance, it was evident after one song that they were not a fit for this group, if they continued to do their normal sets. It could have gotten ugly. So once the band had a chance to regroup they used everything at their disposal to sing songs that this group could identify with. In some cases I think they were doing songs that, as a group, they had never done together. Along with enjoying their music, I have to say that as someone old enough to be all their fathers, I was proud of what they did. Some groups would have just said, I got my money and did what they had planned to do, but they didn't. I hope to see the group again.
Response from A.C. Jones:
Your kind words cannot be appreciated enough. We truly welcomed the challenge in putting our musicianship to the test and it was one of the most amazing moments of our time together as a band....all of us have come from different musical backgrounds, but we were able to pull from all of them to create a show to the best of our ability that satisfied our audience at that time. It was truly an growing experience for us and through it hope we became an even better band from it. The feedback on both our first set of planned material and second set of impromptu, improvised and pulled-from-the-past material was positive and wonderful. We certainly hope to be part of any future events your organization may have us provide entertainment. Thank you so much for taking your valuable time to share your experience.

In a society full of entertainers taking to social media with a “look at me” attitude, SSM Nashville artist AC Jones is finding a great deal of success by expressing a genuine love and concern for her fans. Wherever she is performing, AC has always maintained that it is in a special position to use music to touch lives.
“We look at ourselves as a band that is there to serve our fans and not be served by them,” explains AC. “We have always wanted to develop a sense of family that goes beyond music and the stage by serving our communities and the people in it.”
Like many artists, AC had that one moment that defined the direction of what kind of artist and entertainer she would become. For her, that moment came after the band opened for country music legacy artist, Marty Stuart. She told the audience from the stage that the band would be available to meet with fans at its merchandise booth. What happened next took the Canfield, Ohio-native by surprise.
“I walked to the tent expecting to see only a few people waiting,” she recollects. “There ended up being a line of people that went as far back as I was able to see. And it gave me an amazing feeling, not because of any star complex, but more so because I was given the opportunity to talk to all of these wonderful people. The sheer amount of human connection was amazing.”
Music is indeed a family affair for AC and her band. AC’s father, Michael Myhal, is a guitar player in the band and serves as its manager and technical director. AC’s sister, Brittany Fenstermaker, and brother-in-law, Nathan, play keyboard and bass respectively. Additionally, her mother, Becky Myhal, is in charge of the band’s promotional and graphics needs. The roster is rounded out by Frank McDougal on drums, David Frame on lead guitar, and audio and sound technician, Rob Polivka.
“I can’t even begin to express how blessed I am to have my family not only supporting my endeavors, but also being a part of it,” says AC.
Not only has AC and her family enjoyed performing on stage together, they have also joined forces to use their music to help a cause very dear to their hearts: the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). Their efforts come as the young daughter of band members, Nathan and Brittany, battles Type I Diabetes.
“It can be difficult to spot in very young children because the symptoms look like the flu, which is what everyone thought it was at first,” AC explains. “She got worse very quickly and had to be rushed to the hospital by ambulance. She was in the hospital for a week.”
Citing her niece as one of her heros, AC says the band makes time to assist JDRF at several of its functions. That help has ranged from putting together teams and raising money for JDRF’s annual walk to providing live entertainment at some of the organization’s functions. In fact, the band is planning to take part in three different JDRF fundraisers in 2016.
AC released her debut CD in December of 2015. Entitled The Road Less Traveled, the CD features original music exploring themes of people having to make life-changing decisions, love, and more. The CD’s release spawned radio and television appearances in major media markets such as Pittsburgh and Cleveland. The Road Less Traveled is available for purchase on various digital distribution services, including Amazon and iTunes, and appears on streaming services such as Spotify and Apple Music. Her new single is due to be released to radio in November of 2017.
AC has also taken advantage of an opportunity to perform at one of Nashville’s most popular venues: the legendary Blue Bird Café, which has hosted some of the biggest names in country music as well as serving as a setting for the ABC hit television show, Nashville. Having her moment behind the microphone at the Blue Bird was a special memory made even greater by the presence of a particular country music legend.
“The Blue Bird is very small so you feel like you are almost on top of your neighbor,” Amanda remembers. “I was preparing to begin when I realized Naomi Judd and a group of her friends were there sitting right in the middle of the crowd. That sort of upped the anxiety level.”
Away from music, AC passes time taking part in as many outdoor activities as possible. She enjoys riding her two horses, kayaking, running, and hiking. She recently discovered rock climbing but admits her fear of heights has resulted in her taking on only man-made rock climbing walls for the time being.

Additional Booking Notes
In order to offer the most memorable and professional concert experience, the band uses wireless in-ear monitors. This is usually not a problem as we bring all of our own sound equipment including FOH equipment for smaller to mid-size venues. If you have your own FOH sound for larger events, all we usually need to do is plug our monitor board outs into your audio snake. Michael runs all monitor mixing from our system on the stage, freeing up your FOH personnel to just have to focus on the mix. Better yet, we often travel with our own sound technician and appreciate sound booth privileges as he knows the more intimate details of our songs.
