5 Star Band

Hello, we offer a wide variety of Oldies dance music and Country music from the 40s, 50s, 60s, & 70s. We bring all gear needed for your event and supply our own soundman, P.A. system, microphones, band gear, all backline and recorded music between sets. All band members are accomplished vocalists and play their instruments very well. The band has a drummer, guitarist, bassist, and Keyboardist. Everyone in this group is very outgoing and friendly and will take song requests from your guests if you prefer. We can send you a song list or ask us what song you would like the group to play for you!

5 STAR BAND

The 5 Star Band is a group of musicians that play a variation of different types of music, ranging from the 40s, 50s, 60s and 70s Oldies. Rock n Roll, Country, Pop, Blues, Folk, Jazz. The 5 Star Band, members, can play different instruments that include: bass, rhythm guitar, lead guitar, keyboards, and drums. All members are professional musicians and have entertained throughout the United States. The 5 Star Band has been performing together for about 15 years or more. The Band has played for private social clubs, weddings and private parties, as well as corporate functions and city events. We Bring all gear needed for your event. We supply the P.A. system, backline, microphone's, and all band gear! Needed for your party or any function.

Below is a short Biography of each Band member.

Craig Rowe – Band leader, drummer and percussionist. Craig has been playing drums for over 40 years and is passionate about his music. He has performed with such artists as Doug Stone, Tanya Tucker, Chuck Berry, BTO, Lacy J. Dalton and others. Craig has played at the Crazy Horse, The Palomino Club, Cowboy Boogie, The HOP, Madam Wong’s, The Forum, The Silver Bullet and other well known clubs. Craig had his first paying gig when he was 14, and has never put his sticks down. He loves playing music with a great passion!

Skip Harrison – Bass player and lead vocalist. Skip has been playing music for over 40 years and has a great love for all types of music. His vocal ability ranges from alto to baritone and loves performing with the 5 Star Band. He’s a good front man and relates well with the audience. Skip has done studio work for many other musicians. He played in Las Vegas, Reno and Tahoe, and
also played in clubs such as The Crazy Horse, The Palomino Club, Cowboy Boogie, The Silver Bullet as well as others. Skip has also played for military bases for about 5 to 6 years, up and down the coast. He played for 2 months in Japan for a Naval Base and also loves singing in Christian churches.

Tracy Sands – Keyboards, bass and lead guitar and vocals. Tracy was born in Santa Monica, CA. and has been playing music for over 40 years. Tracy is the oldest of 4 Children. He comes from a musical family background, and learned to play the piano at a young age. His father was a pianist during the Big Band Era. Tracy was a Top 40 junkie and liked all kinds of music. His first guitar was a beat up old Arch top which he played through a knight amplifier. He’s invested a lot of studio time and has played with The Lively Ones. Tracy loves to write music and has occasionally had brainstorming sessions with Jim Masoner. Tracy worked has an electronic engineer at Bad Cat amplifiers in Corona CA. He also owns his own company called Vintage Technology.
He’s opened for Jewel Akens, Brian Hyland, The Buckingham's, The Rip-chords, The Rascals and The Fireballs. Tracy has a profound ability to captivate his audience with his unique humor while performing.

Howard Skinner- lead guitar and vocals: Such a great guy and Lead guitarist!! He plays and sings with a passion that is unparalleled and exceptional! He has been playing guitar and other types of instruments for well over 35 years. Howards expertise shows in his playing and his vocals are also aggressive and fun! He is a musician that loves to entertain his audience and finds great joy in that. He is just a great musician all the way around.

Night gig: We will bring lighting for our band for outside night gigs. And for a small charge we can bring lighting for your outside evening event. A cement floor or, solid ground is suitable for the band and equipment and for musicians to stand on. Patio cover if possible or two 10X10 canopy covers during hot summer months. A professional Contract and invoices, plus a W9, are also available for your records. We will supply a sound P.A. system, microphones, all band gear, back line, and recorded music between sets if needed. We also will supply a extra set of microphones for your special announcements.
