December 17, 2024We had a spur-of-the-moment idea to surprise my father-in-law on his 95th birthday. In a little less than 48 hours from the time we began searching for a Southern Gospel quartet, 4 The Light was at our house and performing many of my father-on-law's cherished favorites. Michael, Don, Darvin and Tim couldn't have been more delightful house guests, and they sounded simply wonderful. I'm still amazed at how lucky we were that they were able to commit to our event on such short notice and had the songs we requested in their repertoire, ready to perform. This was a celebration our family will remember, and we wish to thank 4 The Light Gospel Quartet for truly being the icing on the cake on that very special day.

What to Expect?
Expect a joyful and uplifting program filled with recognizable hymns, Southern Gospel favorites, close four-part harmony and friendly audience interaction.
We arrive prepared, provide our own professional sound system when needed and tailor the program to fit your worship service, concert, senior event, festival or special celebration. Our typical program runs 45 to 75 minutes, although shorter and longer programs are available.
We enjoy sharing brief stories behind selected hymns and encouraging audiences to sing along. Some moments are lively and fun; others are reflective and worshipful. Above all, our goal is to share the love of Jesus through music while making the event easy and enjoyable for the host.

Since 2002, 4 The Light Quartet has been sharing Southern Gospel music, traditional hymns, and the message of Jesus Christ throughout Indiana and the surrounding Midwest. Based near Indianapolis, the quartet is known for close four-part harmony, audience participation, and an uplifting blend of beloved hymns, Southern Gospel classics, and inspirational stories that encourage audiences of all ages.
The quartet began as the Mt. Comfort Men's Quartet at Mt. Comfort United Methodist Church in Greenfield, Indiana. As the ministry continued to grow, the group became 4 The Light Quartet and has remained committed to sharing Christ through music wherever God opens a door.
Since 2014, 4 The Light Quartet has released four recordings: Let The Glory Roll, Victory, Amazing Grace – Songs of Faith, and Heaven Bound. The group is also blessed with two songwriters. Tenor Michael Hoyt has released five solo recording projects, while baritone Don Paff has released his own solo album, giving the ministry a combined catalog of ten recordings.
Over the years, 4 The Light Quartet has been honored to perform at hundreds of churches, fairs, festivals, senior communities, conventions, and special events throughout Indiana and six surrounding states. Highlights include performances at the Indiana State Fair, the Indiana Convention Center, the Indiana State Gospel Music Convention Fan Fest, the Elkhart County Fair, Johnson County Fair, Hancock County 4-H Fair, Boone County Fair, Gallatin County Fair (Kentucky), Riley Days Festival, Fountain Park Chautauqua, Carmel Christkindlmarkt, the Indiana Christmas Gift & Hobby Show, OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini-Marathon, Carmel Marathon Opening Ceremonies, WHMB-TV Christmas specials, JoyFM Christmas specials, and many other community celebrations and worship services.

We're always adding new music and are happy to consider advance song requests whenever possible.
Our greatest influence is the timeless message of Jesus Christ found in the great hymns of the faith and the Southern Gospel songs that have encouraged generations of believers. We have a deep appreciation for hymn writers such as Fanny Crosby, Charles Wesley, William Kirkpatrick, William Cushing, Philip Bliss, Albert E. Brumley, and many others whose songs continue to point hearts toward Christ.
Musically, we have been inspired by groups such as The Statler Brothers, The Cathedrals, Gold City, the Gaither Vocal Band, and many of the classic Southern Gospel quartets. While we enjoy performing familiar Southern Gospel favorites, our passion is introducing audiences to fresh arrangements of treasured hymns while preserving the message and integrity of the original songs.
More than anything, we are influenced by the people who attend our concerts. Seeing congregations sing along, smile, worship, and reconnect with songs that have strengthened their faith through the years reminds us why we continue this ministry. Our desire is to honor Christ, encourage believers, and share the hope of the Gospel through music that brings generations together.
A performance area of approximately 12' × 15' is ideal, but we can comfortably adapt to smaller spaces when needed.
If we provide the sound system, we require access to two standard 120-volt electrical outlets.
We provide professional sound equipment for small, medium, and large venues, including churches, senior communities, festivals, and outdoor events.
Basic stage lighting is available for evening concerts, tent revivals, and other outdoor events when needed.
