I provide ethereal acoustic stringed instrument music via voice and invented and modified folk and traditional instruments which relaxes the listener and encourages a journey or story, supporting a meditative atmosphere and has just the right touch to add depth and sophistication to a wide variety of happenings. This music is especially suited to yoga and fantasy/gaming/imaginal/spiritual events; it's at home anywhere a nuanced blend of ancient and modern sound is desired.

In general, imagine a musician from Tolkien's Middle Earth who live records and remixes their own music on a mystical flashing box of sublime natural rhythms with beautiful acoustic stringed instruments and warm baritone vocals.
Zane Lazos has been writing, performing, recording and researching music for over 20 years. He was educated in his native Cascadia region North America in music from an early age with his father's guitar in the house, consistent encouragement from his parents to play, and academic training resulting in a Bachelor's degree emphasizing musical composition, performance and ethnography.
Zane has performed regionally in the U.S. and internationally in Europe, Turkey, Australia, and New Zealand. He fuses the otherworldly sound of the Turkish-style bowed and plucked tanbur, bass guitar, and voice with the art of live sampling and world music sound design. Zane draws from his background in Western academic musical training, progressive rock and metal bass guitar, and study with Turkish and Greek music masters in the United States, Turkey, and Greece (Sadun Aksüt, Timuçin Çevikoğlu, Evgenios Voulgaris) to blend the ancient with the contemporary in a journey that charts new musical waters wherever they may lead.
Standard requirement for the venue is a powerpoint within 10-15 feet of the performance area, a comfortable armless chair. Staging requirements are generally a 6' x 6' (2 meter x 2 meter) area with the chair centrally placed. The artist can provide his own microphone and stand and prefers to do so, but may utilize any mic provided by the venue or hiring organization. Lighting generally is best subdued with a single focused very soft spotlight. The venue is generally expected to provide a sound system of adequate wattage, quality, and SPL to project to the expected audience. The artist can provide his own monitor (fallback) system (which can be utilized as a primary sound system for smaller venues), but may utilize the monitoring system inherent to the venue's main sound system.
