Born in 1982 in San Antonio Tx, Joe “Yung Chase” Jackson was drawn to music at a very young age. Remembering growing up he recalls his parents playing old records of artists such as Michael Jackson, The Jackson 5, Aerosmith, Guns N Roses, Run DMC, The Fat Boys, Kurtis Blow and Earth, Wind, and Fire.
It wasn’t until 1992 at the age of 10 when Chase decided that entertaining and reaching people through music was what he wanted to do. Dr. Dre just released “The Chronic” album introducing Death Row Records and the videos of crazy parties and sexy women was something that he wanted to be a part of. He started writing music using instrumentals and a tape recorder to create projects that no one else would ever hear beside himself. At the age of 17 he decide that it was time to make his dreams a reality.
Along with a neighborhood DJ and close friend Chase released his first neighborhood hit titled “Smokin on Indo” and began promoting shows using his own backyard as the venue. It wasn’t until a few years later that Chase linked up with Pawly - C and became a member of the group “The Awnightaz”. In 2001 the group released their first project “We Got Next” and began promoting the album doing shows in San Antonio, Houston, and Detroit.
Shortly after Chase broke away from the group joining Dallas Tx artist Big Tech under his label Scratch and Spin Productions. The duo released “Only In Texas” and began preparing for Chase’s first solo project 1-800 Hustle which was never released.
Chase then ventured out on his own gaining success as a solo artist opening up shows for major artists such as Paul Wall, Gemini, Chamillionaire, Webbie, Hurricane Chris, Triple 6 Mafia, and Ja Rule. Currently Chase is getting ready to release his first solo project “Loved By Few, Hated by many”. A project that his fans feel is long over due.
